Even if Chrono Trigger stands as one of the best RPGs ever to come out the then Squaresoft bag of tricks, you might say that Square Enix didn't follow-up on the fame as well as the fans would like. So along came Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes, a fan-created ROM hack sequel to the time-travelling adventures of Crono and company. Unfortunately for the devs of the project, Square Enix just whipped out the dreaded C&D order, demanding that they destroy the 98% complete project. You might feel as bad as I do especially after you watch the trailer. |

Here's a nice treat for the DKC fans - from the massive melting pot that is YouTube comes two music mash-ups featuring the music from Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3. What's interesting here is that some music across those two titles are actually very similar, and even DKC fans would appreciate the seemless transition between the tracks. Grab your headphones or turn up your speakers - this one's gonna take you back to the good ol' days. |

If
you've been around YouTube enough, you may have seen Matrix Ping Pong from the Japanese variety show called
Kasou Taishou. Well, don't look now, but here we have a Super Mario
Matrix skit that has our Italian plumber going through World 1-1 and meeting
Bowser. But that's only half of the interesting things crammed in there
- especially since one of the pipes becomes a portal to New York! Ha!
See if you can spot Barack Obama! Weekend videos in the full article! |

Monday morning in Virgina, a 6-year-old kid misses his bus to school. What's a kid to do? He's about to be late! Well, obviously, take your family's car and get your tardy butt to the campus, of course! And that's just what the kid (name undisclosed, so we'll just call him "Lil Nicky" - you'll know why in a bit) did. Aren't kids just amazing these days? If they're not fighting battles in court to legalize hedgehogs, they're driving themselves to school.*Update* CNN video included! |

Barack Obama, in a campaign video, argued that history cannot be made with a Wiimote. No, he's not dissing the Wii. Honest. Although I do take offense at the implication that my Wiimote skills are not historical in nature. |

While all you Naruto fans are awaiting the commercial launch of Tomy Corporation's and D3Publisher's Naruto: Path of the Ninja on October 27, here's another appetizer to keep you salivating: we recently came across an interesting gameplay trailer on YouTube. While the gameplay trailer was only short enough to tease, it revealed some intriguing things about Path of the Ninja's gameplay mechanics.
For instance, while the layout and the menus seem like standard RPG stuff, what really grabbed our attention was the process by which the player activated Sasuke's Phoenix Power Jutsu. Apparently, the hand seals for the various jutsu in the game are executed by rapidly rubbing the DS' touch screen back and forth, when prompted, in order to fill up a jutsu meter. Don't just take our word for it, though. Check out the actual YouTube trailer for Naruto: Path of the Ninja below. |
