DS owners mulling over what flashcart to purchase, attention: here's something you should know about one of your potential buys, the brand-spanking new CycloDS - a slow-mo feature that you can toggle on and of during gameplay with a simple button press. And to prove it, here's a video of the actual feature in action, activated in the middle of a skateboarding game.
While it certainly slows down the frantic gameplay to a more manageable level, one should note that the music doesn't slow down with the gameplay - thus eliminating any embarrassing sound warping (and not giving away the fact that you're practically cheating). However, this also in turn eliminates any usefulness it may have when rhythm games are concerned, specifically Elite Beat Agents and Ouendan 2, where the music being in time with gameplay is key. In any case, enjoy the video! |

Get your MicroSD USB adapters ready folks, as we report another update for the CycloDS Evolution card for the Nintendo DS portable console. This latest firmware release - pegged at version 1.12 - is expected to fix several problems that were reported by Evo owners during the card's usage. We have to admit, Team Cyclops is pretty quick with their updates. Two days shy of releasing CycloDS Evolution firmware 1.1 for use among the NDS community, the team's just announced the release of firmware version 1.11. This latest fw carries these tweaks:
The Auto Boot for Slot 2 feature will allow evo owners to skip the standard bootup and main menu, and head straight for whatever cartridge they have loaded in the DS slot 2. This is executable by holding "up" while the card is booting up. That's the rough on v1.11's features. Feel free to download the file here, if you think you card's up for the new tweaks. With the growing number of supported media on the DS, thanks to homebrew, you just can't get enough space. Having multiple SD cards can prove to be too inconvenient, so Team Cyclops is something in store for you: the favorite media enhancer has just gotten better, with CycloDS Evolution supporting MicroSDHC among its plethora of features. MicroSDHC takes a huge leap from 2GB SD capacity, reaching up to 32GB. Current CycloDS users might want Evolution not only for bigger space, but other new features. From being a simple media launcher, there's "Enhanced Mode" that allows some nifty effects like changing LCD brightness or playing in slow motion. Coming at a suggested retail price of US$ 54.99, this sounds like a pretty reasonable investment. The product description on official Cyclops site promises some new features to come, so you might get more than your money's worth with this DS enhancer. Get more info from their official site via the Read link below. |
