DS liteHeads up guys! The DSLua team is back, with a no crew to boot. From now on, Sypherce, Daltonlaffs, and Jeremysr will be handling DSLua. In fact, they just released DSLua v0.6. For those who aren't in the know, this homebrew app allows DS users to access the Lua structure, paving the way for more innovative games using the Lua script.

Anyway, this one has a Wi-Fi function library, script auto-start (behaves like an actual DS homebrew program), new system and stylus functions, and a microphone library.

According to Jeremysr, this version has also been compiled with newer versions of PAlib and devkitPro, making Lua programs run faster. Jeremysr adds that DSLua still comes in CF (the CF version uses LibFATDragon and comes with grey, green, and blue versions for compatibility with other homebrew devices) and GBFS flavors.

DSWell, lookie here! Homebrew applications developer for the Nintendo DS, sypherce, has updated his creation, DS2Key. Now, in version 0.6, the app has really improved in leaps and bounds over time. The last time we reported about it was way back in March and we're glad that this app is getting its needed updates.

In case you have forgotten what it is, DS2Key utilizes your NDS as a gamepad for your PC by transmitting signals via WiFi. Of course, you're gonna need a a wireless router for this. Version 0.6 is now blessed with virtual gamepad emulation so now, you can use it with any app requiring a joystick or gamepad.

Bear in mind that the touch screen serves as the analog stick when in gamepad mode. For now, the gamepad mode will only work for a single person. Aside from that, you must install an external program called PPJoy to make use of the gamepad mode functions. sypherce was kind enough to hook you up with instructions as to how to go about it, so fulfill your end of the bargain and read up. With all that mentioned, download link's right down there, you know what to do.

DDRLiteCoder sypherce has released DDRLite, his entry for this year's NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition. As can be gathered from the name, it's a Dance Dance Revolution-type game. It's not only for the DS Lite, despite what the name may suggest, and plain old DS fans can still enjoy the game. DDRLite comes with three songs plus the ability to convert your own songs to .sm format.

To use the menus you use up/down to go up/down, and start to select. The first menu is for setting the touch mode. On the second menu, you can set the game's difficulty. The developer notes, however, that not all songs support all difficulties, and if a particular song does not support the setting you chose then the game will show no arrows. The third and fourth menus are used to navigate to your desired song.

During the game, use the a/b/x/y/up/down/left/right buttons to hit the corresponding arrow when it reaches the gray arrow at the top. In linear touch mode, the bottom screen will be used and you will hit the gray arrows as the green ones reach them. If you are using the Dance Mat mode you'll do the same, except hit the arrows that are in a diamond shape.

To convert your own songs open a command line window and run the "DDRLite Converter.exe" application followed by the "input" dir and then the "output" dir (remember quotes). Please remember when putting in your own songs to put them in __Letter__:DDRLiteSongs__GROUP____SONG__, with "__Letter__" being the letter of your flash media, "__GROUP__" being a folder containing a number of song folders, and "__SONG__" being the actual song folder.

If you wanna get your groove on with your DS in hand, click on the link below to download this homebrew game.
