The package includes a wrist strap, car charger, protective carrying bag, charging dock, headphones, NDS game cases, mini screen wipes, stylus, lower and upper screen protectors, and a carry-all bag to put them all in their place. HtheB (the guy who helps kevinc debug his Beup app) together with his homebrew-developing friends - DarkGilson and Tassu">Tassu - has presented a homebrew game called Glider for the Nintendo DS. If you're thinking that this is another entry to the Neo Summer Coding Contest, you're right, we have another one at our midst.

From the name itself, you know that the game will involve high-flying acts in a plane or something that flies. Glider is basically a 3D glider simulator which enables you to fly through the air in the video game world. You move your glider around by using your
stylus. As of now, the fly mode is the only available thing, the training part is nothing different from the fly mode...for now. Let's see what this trio has up their sleeves.

Paddle Battle DS - Image 1 Paddle Battle DS - Image 2

Another entry for the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition (2006) was released today, this one being made by Sumiguchi called Paddle Battle DS. As most game names suggest, this title relates to the actual game. This game is a clone of everyone’s favorite game – air hockey! Although no computer games have ever gotten as good as the original table version, it’s definitely something great to play on-the-go.

The paddles are controlled by the stylus and the direction of the puck is controlled by the ABXY buttons. The most practical way to control and move it will be using "X" to direct it forward. If you choose not to direct the puck, it will go around the table like crazy, and would be almost impossible to score and win the game with. Good luck in the competition Sumiguchi!

As part of the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition (2006), Webez has released a new homebrew game entitled – SFCave DS. SFCave DS is a remake of a very popular internet game, SFCave. SFCave has seen several online remakes involving helicopters and other flying devices as the main object.

This remake however is not a ripoff of the game, bur rather a very nice clone – featuring two modes (Classic and Remix). To control the “line”, you must hold the stylus or let go of the stylus on the bottom screen – if you tap the screen, the line goes up (hold it and it continues to go up); if you let go, the line will fall down. The classic mode involves the classic game with little to no changes while the Remix version offers a few graphical changes.

Slide and Run Screenshot

As part of the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition (2006), Gwoin has released Slide and Run - a NDS homebrew game. This game is one of the most unique and innovative games that I have seen entered into this competition. We've seen Nintendo's new approach to simplistic games with their Touch Generations and the upcoming Wii console, but it seems like homebrew developer's are spreading the same love.

Gwoin's Slid and Run homebrew game promises a unique gameplay experience while you help a alien (who accidentally fell to earth's surface) find his spaceship. The unique part of the game comes in the controls - full stylus control!

You must move objects out of Marsxzel's (the stranded alien) way and you can even have him jump just by touching him! There are a total of 12 unique levels, all of which pose different obstacles and situations!

Screenshot of FP-ProjectAs part of the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition (2006), JED has released a new version of his spectacular NDS homebrew game FP-Project. FP-Project is your basic bubble popper-type of game with stylus and d-pad control to shoot your balls/bubbles in an attempt to survive. The controls are very simple to learn, using the d-pad to select an angle to launch the ball or using the stylus (slide the stylus on the bottom screen in the direction that you would like the ball to travel).

It is a very addictive game and very challenging for those who have not played a game like this before. So, the object of the game is simple as well - match at least 3 balls together (same color) and then all the balls below them (including the matched balls) will fall off the screen.

Screenshot of MineSweeper DSAs part of the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition (2006), The_Legend released a new NDS game called MineSweeperDS. As the name suggests, this is a Mine Sweeper clone of the game that can be found on most PC's. However, unlike the PC version, you can not cheat on this NDS version. However, cheating is a bad thing - and we all hate cheaters don't we? So, aside from not being able to cheat, the game also adds some features that were not existent in the Windows game.

These features include sound (customizable if you change the files on your flashcart and/or adapter) as well as a colored background that you can change to the color you like! This is very impressive as it also reads your NDS's home screen's selected color and uses that by default! This is truly a great game; hopefully we will see more changes like these to our old classic games! Since some boards may be larger than the NDS's screen, you can scroll the screen by using the D-pad or the XYAB buttons. Or, if you want to get a little more complicated, you can use the stylus - To use the stylus, hold UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT/A/B/X/Y and touch 'n drag on the screen. after you've touched you can let go of the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons, and move the "table" around.

MainTime to let your pets go and delve into Tamagochis. Why was Tamagotchi such a hit? First off they're pretty much cheap to feed and care for. No real poop to clean. You don't need to worry about your pets eating other children, etc. Now with Tamagotchi Connection Workshop 2, your pets will have to do more than roll over and fetch you slippers when you get home.

Beginning shop keepers will be able to open up new stores wherein the players will be tending to Tamagotchi customer's needs by accomplishing mini-games tasks. The three, Mametchi, Memetchi, and Kuchipatch will be helping players in creating a shopping world populated by more than a 100 or so other Tamagochis.

An added feature would be the microphone and stylus functions. The players will be using this and more tools in accomplishing tasks set by the game. Players will be able to sing along with the game using the microphone features.

The players will need Gotchi points to advance Tamagotchi partners. The more points, the more extra shops will be available. Examples are the Bowling Alley and Sushi Bar. Another additional feature will be the happiness rating system. Making the customers happy will be essential in this game. Responses from the Tamagochis will highly depend on what level their happiness is. So make sure they like you or they'll make it hard for you to move on.

Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 2 will be available stateside by winter.

You've seen the preview and the website. Now take a look at the Commercial! Yes, it's in Japanese but you get to see how the stylus is actual used. Thinking about it, this seems to be a great and innovative idea. This would be a great game for multi-taskers out there, as you will need to be on the tips of your stylus here. Combining the use of the d-pad and then running the stylus all over the screen to move pivots and turn wheels would make you freak out in frustration. Transforming into other forms ALSO changes the controls. Looks like the players out there will need to master one robot at a time to fully complete this game. But once you get the hang of it, it'll just make the game even more cooler than it currently is.

It's going to be out in Japan by September. Let's hope it reaches other shores as well.
