Nintendo Weekend Warrior - Image 1 Nintendo's still not giving in to the lures of a price drop, and really, why should they? They have the two bestselling consoles in this generation, both home and handheld. If you think about it, they can afford to keep the Wii at its price point. The good thing though is that this week, they've started making a few concessions. Well one, really. Read on for more on that, little wolf pups and adventures in censorship in the rest of the Nintendo Weekend Warrior.

Wii and DS - Image 1It sure must make a whole lot of things easier if developers can just automatically convert game codes from one platform to another, right? If this is the picture we're looking at, then we should go ahead and talk to Square Enix about it. After all, they're doing it already. Their first sample: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (Wii and DS).

Tokyo Game Show - Image 1With GamesCom out of the way, there's still another big gaming event on the calendar: the Tokyo Game Show. For this year's TGS, Sega will be showing off a pretty balanced lineup that includes handheld sequel Valkyria Chronicles 2, the PS3 and Xbox 360 RPG End of Eternity, and PS3 exclusive Yakuza 4.

TGS - Image 1Another major gaming event coming up - the Tokyo Game Show is prepping to get its game on this year. Publishers are starting to whip out their lineups for the said event, and today's lineup comes from Square Enix. To No surprise at all, they'll be taking a very FF-clad lineup to TGS 2009.

QJ QuickPeek - Image 1GamesCom sure did not disappoint this week, although it did color our front page purple for the most part. No doubt about it, Sony ruled the spotlight this past week, and there's even no point saying otherwise. Fanboy or not, plain fact is that Sony was responsible for probably 80% of the gaming-related activity on the Internet this week. But not to worry, you bet you can find other big news in QJ for the 86th week of QuickJump QuickPeek! All across our blogs! Jump in and find out for yourself.

Dragon Quest IX - Image 1It  makes one wonder how a smash hit like Dragon Quest IX is not made available worldwide. In Japan, where it was released in last month, the Square Enix RPG for the DS has already sold well over 3.5 million, earning 2 million sales on its launch week alone. So, when's it coming over to our shores? Yoichi Wada, CEO of Squeenix, has the answer after the jump.

III days to go...? - Image 1Square Enix has everyone talking once again with a new teaser site. It's got the usual countdown and it seems to be clocking down the days until we all get an answer - unless we get yet another countdown after that. More after the jump.

Final Fantasy Gaiden: The Four Warriors of Light - Image 1Wow, that was fast. It was a month ago when we got our first teasing bits from Square Enix about Final Fantasy Gaiden: The Four Warriors of Light, and already we have a release date, for the Japanese, at least. I was thinking along the lines of getting bombarded with mini teasers and screens here and there, especially considering that this one carries the Final Fantasy name. At any rate, for those who've been waiting for this one, we've got release info right here.
