Lazyone is most certainly not being lazy with this latest release of his DS homeberw, Wolfenstein 3D Test Release. While it's only a few days old, and there may be some things missing, it should be palyable.

Developer Eric Hobbs recently released a new build of his ongoing cquake homebrew game project for the DS. Among other updates, this new build now features double tap support for the handheld's touch screen.

If you're ready to reminisce the good old times with some classic FPS gaming, then get ready to download the latest build of developer Eric Hobb's Quake port for the Nintendo DS. The 062008 release build of cquake includes a prebuild of the single and multi-player versions. For more details on the new version of cquake, check out our full article after the jump.

We have picked up word that software developer Kevin Vance has released a DS port of MegaZeux (MZX). For those asking, MZX is a game creation system created by Gregory Janson in 1994. MZX is itself based on Tim Sweeney's ZZT shareware game. Sweeney is further noted for his work on the Unreal engine.

kvance cautions users that this build is still rough, and that it is just for test. Also, it is probably best for you folks to check out/ heed his warnings (quoting kvance's site):

• Be sure to make backups, as earlier versions have caused filesystem corruption on my CF card.
• Gameplay works for medium-sized worlds (~500KB). Larger worlds will run out of memory and crash.

Another entrant into the NeoFlash Spring Coding Competition, GPF's Duke3Ds is a port of Duke Nukem 3D port from GP2X. Amazing how the ports come so much sooner than Duke Nukem Forever, which is still taking forever and a day to make.

There's some technical stuff you need to consider closely though, so listen up. Here's what GPF mentioned on his post to NeoFlash:

DLDI patch .nds and copy it and defs.con, game.con, user.con, duke3d.grp and supplied duke3d.cfg to /duke3d directory of card. Might be case sensitive with Uppercase. It still needs sound added and network support, but is playable with your own provided shareware .grp or full version .grp file.
