Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword - Image 1 Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword - Image 2

We clearly can't get enough of Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for the DS, especially after we saw its epic Tokyo Game Show trailer. While the trailer gave us an idea about the controls, these new scans from Famitsu reveal more details about Dragon Sword's stylus movements.

For example, sweeping the stylus over the enemy in a downwards motion makes Ryu Hayabusa jump over the poor enemy; making an upwards motion afterwards will prompt Ryu to throw the opponent into the air and smash him back onto the ground. That's just a simple down-up sweep of the stylus, yet it packs quite a wallop.

There's a bunch of other stylus motion techniques detailed in the scans. Even if the scan is in Japanese, the screenshots are pretty much self-explanatory. Do check them out!

An epic adventure that isn't about collecting hundreds of cute monsters or jumping on turtles is about to grace the DS, in form of none other than Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword. Director Tomonobu Itagaki said this title's calibre is not something we've seen on the Nintendo handheld, and we're inclined to believe after watching this video to be shown at Tokyo Game Show 2007.

Ryu Hayabusa is back, but his sword will not shed blood with only a few button presses alone - the Stylus will be used in all different ways, from moving our favorite ninja around to imitating the movement of his deadly combos before actually initiating them. If that doesn't sound crazy enough, you have to check out the gameplay demonstration video below.

Prepare to see some touch screen action like never before; find the TGS '07 trailer below.

Tomonobu Itagaki, legendary creator of the Dead or Alive series as well as the next-gen Ninja Gaiden franchise, talks about the unbelievably-smooth and wicked-looking slash-em-up on the Nintendo DS in this developer interview of Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword.

In this video interview, we find out that the reason Itagaki-san decided to make the title for the DS is that he wanted to make a game of Ninja Gaiden's caliber on the handheld, as he sees that there is yet to be a game made for the DS that's of the same quality.

We also discover that, by all rights and purposes, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is a completely original title and not a port - in fact, we can even consider it a sequel of sorts, with the game's storyline set during the events between Ninja Gaiden 1 and Ninja Gaiden 2. Awesome.

More info and a healthy dose of dragon-killing action in the video embed below. Enjoy!
