With Sony and Microsoft making such big headliners back in E3, the aftermath has left Nintendo a bit unsung. Worry not though, that's what the Weekend Warrior is for, so you can get a quick recap of all things Nintendo that hit the scene this week. Hardware is the name of the game for the past few days, and so we have a one for a pedometer, motion-sensors, and a lie detector.

If you thought that Nintendo would have given up going after the hardcore market now, you're dead wrong. They're more determined than ever, and they remain positive that yes, they can still win over the Halo audience.

Ninty fans are getting the big guns at this coming E3 2009 as the bigwigs of Nintendo confirmed attendance for the event. Among the heavy-hitters making their way to the LA Convention Center on June 2, 2009 are Satoru Iwata, Reggie Fils-Aime, and Cammie Dunaway.

Pikmin game coming soon? Let's do the time warp for a bit and recall Shigeru Miyamoto's words back at E3 2008. "We're making Pikmin" is all that he said pertaining to the much-requested sequel to the GameCube original franchise. Now here comes Edge Magazine with a full-page ad for their 203rd issue. The ad itself is just a shot of a patch of grass, but some eagle-eyed observers have noted that in the top-right hand corner, there's a little purple blob that resembles a Pikmin.

Nintendo disappointed a lot of core gamers at last year's E3 after it didn't announce any new Zelda or Mario game. This year, the company plans to make up for it. Talking to GameTrailers, Nintendo of America chief Reggie Fils-Aime said that they will do a "much better job" at E3 2009.

At the ongoing GDC, Nintendo prez Iwata announced that the Wii is the fastest-selling game console in history. But who cares about that. You'll care more about the new Zelda game, as well as the firmware update that they issued as an answer to the Wii storage problem.

Despite Nintendo's seemingly nonchalant attitude to the gripes of its gamers, Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime assures us that they do listen. That's a comfort to know Reggie, but I'm still waiting for news on a hard drive.

What does the Nintendo have to offer in the area of user-generated content? Miis? That's it, I think. This situation may change soon, however. Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aime has recently said that user-generated content is the future of interactive entertainment, and so Nintendo's gonna hop right onto that bandwagon.

It's the question we all asked about the Wii: "where the hell are the hardcore games?" Here's your answer. According to Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime, "instead of competing for the very best players, we decided to shoot for the most players."

Well. A tiny piece of my Zelda heart just broke.

Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime: "One of our competitors [the PlayStation 3] projects they will sell 10 million consoles worldwide this year. For us, that's three months of production [for the Wii]." Ohhh, burn!

Anyway, on to the news. Addressing the shortage problem, Fils-Aime has announced that they will raise production by 33%. About time.
