The latest numbers in Japan are now in from Famitsu, showing strong sales of the PSP-3000. The industry as a whole seems to be suffering in the region though; the data says that sales keep falling since last year. But that's probably just because everyone in Japan already has a console. Details after the link. |

The PSP-3000 continues to make huge waves in Japan. All in all, the PSP saw sales more than twice all the consoles and the DS combined. I think "wow" would be the best word in this situation. Also in the news, the Xbox 360 continues to outsell the PlayStation 3. Numbers after the link. |

At the Tokyo Game Show, Cloud and Terra were finally announced to be the missing members of the Dissidia roster. Though I'm not particularly surprised. What else is Square Enix up to down at TGS? Well how about a customized PSP-3000 with a Dissidia theme? Check out shots of the handheld in the full article. |

"I can see the DSi being successful," says John Koller, Sony's brand manager for the PSP. But that's not the full story, of course. Koller was able to give his two cents about Nintendo's new DS upgrade, and while he does have some positive remarks, he still somehow manages to sneak in a potshot at the DS' demographic. Third time's the charm for Microsoft. The latest numbers from Japan show that the Xbox 360 has once again outsold the PlayStation 3 for the third week running. And crunching some numbers reveal that the Xbox 360 outsold the PlayStation 3 for the entire month of September. It's a little too early for Christmas miracles, so I'd say this is... a Halloween miracle? |

The Xbox 360 may still not have outsold the Wii in Japan, but it's definitely leaving the PlayStation 3 eating its dust. The latest numbers show that Xbox 360 sales in the region has exceeded the PS3's for the second week running. In the handheld scene, it's the calm before the storm as sales decline in anticipation for the PSP-3000. |
