Despite an 18% loss in revenue last quarter as compared to last year's,
Electronic Arts is confident the launch of a number of holiday titles
and an upcoming restructuring would put them back in the game. The
changes will focus on efficiency and cost-cutting. Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter remains positive about the
future of the studio, saying: "They
appear to have costs under control and revenue growth is solid." |

Chart Track UK has announced the games topping their all-format charts ending for the week ending September 29. Much like the warm welcome it enjoyed in North America, Bungie Studios' Halo 3 finds an equally receptive gaming audience in the UK as it takes the top post. Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor: Airborne (PS3, PC, Xbox 360) - which topped the charts in our last report - appears to have parachuted all the way down to 12. FIFA 08 (PS3, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360) currently holds the second place, followed by MySims, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, and Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights.

Hot off the big BioShock launch last week, more great games are coming to stores this week. Particularly eye-catching is that wham-banger Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. There's also a new Naruto game coming out on the PSP, and Stranglehold will smash in to the PC and Xbox 360 scenes.Fighting games, racing titles and sports sims, as well as casual puzzle games are also in the mix. There's something for everyone, so dig in: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The latest sequel to one of the most decorated game franchises of all time is due out tomorrow exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. Samus is back and this time, the Wii Nunchuk is her toy of choice. Old moves and new weapons converge to create a new mind-blowing experience for the genre.

Yet another EA Sports game is about to hit the shelves. Before your woods get hot for that tee shot, we've got a video found on Gametrailers that takes an in-depth look at some of the new mechanics Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) will be introducing.
New to the franchise is the grid line feature when putting, something we've seen from other golf games like Pangya. Another worthy addition that looks very promising is the Player Confidence system. All your shots will be recorded, and your future performance will be affected by your previous attempts. If you've been nailing the green from a certain place on the hole, your player will be more confident in taking shots from there. Before you drool too much, here's producer Mike Cayado walking us through what to expect from the latest Tiger Woods PGA Tour title: |

Electronic Arts (EA) is one of the biggest game developing/publishing companies in the world. The company has recently announced that it will be reorganizing its business under four labels, mainly: EA Sports, EA
Games, EA Casual Entertainment and The Sims.According to the recent press release, this is to "streamline decision-making, improve global focus, and speed new ideas to the market." However, these teams are not stand alone entities, they will be receiving support from two new groups: Central Development Services and Global Publishing. These auxiliaries will be led by Executive Vice President John Schappert. In addition to this, all four labels will be served by centralized teams to handle Finance, IT, Legal and Human Resources. Now while this may interest some industry members, what most gamers would probably be wondering about is under what label would their games fall on. To answer that here's a short background on each label, their respective heads along with what upcoming games will be classified and handled by it.
This transition will be implemented over the course of the coming months. EA is privileged to have a deep bench of proven talent and our new structure encourages people to bring great ideas into the market more quickly. There will be more games and services for core consumers and new gamers and better focus on operational efficiency. That said, does this drive for smaller divisions mean a more service-oriented approach by the company? While we can't say for certain, it looks like the company is headed in that direction. Be sure to keep checking back here for the latest gaming industry news. |

For the week ending May 26, Chart Track has seen Activision's Spider-Man 3 still stuck on the number one spot over all platforms, thanks to players on the PlayStation 3 and PS2, where Spidey remains king. Disney Interactive's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is now firmly seated at number two, thanks to a consistent second place on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PS2 charts, and a steady third place over the Wii and PSP. Biggest game enjoying a solo flight to success is Nintendo's Mario Strikers Charged Football, which is firmly seated on top of the Wii charts and only that chart. Electronic Art's Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars falls to fourth spot, thanks to a solid first place on top of both the PC and Xbox 360 charts. Pro Evolution Soccer 6 from Konami slips to number five, although ironically, it isn't present on any of the charts for any platform. Nintendo's Wii Play and Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training are happily enjoying spots six and seven, while 505 Games' Cooking Mama bars anyone else from entering the top 10 spots. Electronic Arts' Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 sinks to number eight. Soccer contender FIFA 07 from Electronic Arts slips to number nine.

And the lean All-Platforms List from pop culture trackers Chart Track begins with your friendly neighborhood Spidey, who according to the gamers at the UK, is sitting neatly on top of the list for the third week in a row. Multiplatform Spider-Man 3 actually owes it all to the PlayStation 3 and PS2 fans, especially to the recent release of the Collector's Edition. It appears that the charts has been dominated by games available for the Nintendo Wii, however, with around five games from multiplatform releases and two as first-party titles. Electronic Arts' Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 takes its hat off to the gamers of the new-gen console, being noted as the biggest jumper in the list for this week - a clear leap from the 10th spot to number 6. Microsoft and Sony bring around four games a piece, although the Xbox 360 keeps a single exclusive title with Realtime World's Crackdown. Crackdown is also this week's new entrant to the list, leaping in to the 8th spot from the 19th. Sony on the other hand has a collection of titles for the PS2, PlayStation 3, and the PSP on the list. Sitting comfortably in number two for three weeks is Electronic Arts' Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, raking in the advantages of topping both the PC and Xbox 360 charts in the region. Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 6 enters the top three from the 4th spot. Office Create's Cooking Mama steps up from the 6th to enter the top five. Here's a rundown:
