There were already a few signs hinting that Atari was having some trouble holding on to the Dragon Ball franchise. A couple of years ago, the publisher clashed with FUNimation over the game license. Namco Bandai announced last month that it had secured publishing rights to three new entries in the franchise. Today, Namco Bandai has announced that it's finishing what it started.

Finally. The Potter gang is back (this time with more raging hormones and some erstwhile snogging behind curtains in between classes). After the whole ordeal with the "Harry Potter and the delayed video game" scenario, we get a street date notched in stone. The game was delayed due to the rescheduling of the movie, but now that mid-2009 is here, we can expect the game to finally roll in. What's more is that the game is coming out a few weeks ahead of the movie too!

Nintendo's most recent financial report has revealed part of the company's release lineup for the next few months. Frontrunners include the Wii MotionPlus-powered Wii Sports Resort and, of course, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Note that these titles are first-party only. Also, this list is far from definitive, so watch out for more Nintendo announcements during E3.

Brain food! While you're busy trying to avoid getting crunched by hordes of Majini, Capcom's busy crunching Resident Evil 5 sales figures by the hundreds of thousands: well, one and a half million, to be exact. Yes, the NPD software sales figures for the month of March have already been released, and in that report, we find RE5 on the Xbox 360 and  PS3 bringing home the bacon (and the meat, and the brains, and the guts...). I haven't really kept up with the Front Mission series after the third one, but that may soon change as it looks like Square Enix is planning to bring a new Front Mission game to North America.

North America gets the DSi handheld released across retail today. Meanwhile, across the Pacific, Japan's got yet another DSi bundle confrirmed for the region. After seeing the special DSi editions for KH 358/2 Days and FFCC: Echoes of Time... HOLD IT! Here comes Miles Edgeworth!

The efforts of Nintendo (and 54 other game developers) to stop piracy are finally getting some results. Japan has now officially - and legally! - banned the selling and importing of R4 flash carts for the DS.

Oh goodie. Japan is getting three more DSi colors and the thing hasn't even come out yet in other regions. But I shouldn't gripe. You can do that for yourself.

Earlier rumors of the DSi's release for April 4 wasn't far off - it only missed by a day. An official press release from Nintendo reveals that the DSi will be released on April 5 in North America.

Despite Nintendo's seemingly nonchalant attitude to the gripes of its gamers, Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime assures us that they do listen. That's a comfort to know Reggie, but I'm still waiting for news on a hard drive.
