Homebrew developer 0xtob has rolled out an update for NitroTracker, the homebrew music creation app for the Nintendo DS. This latest version of NitroTracker gives users even more options for creating their own tunes. For more on what's new in NitroTracker v0.4, hit the full article.

Tobias, otherwise known as _0xtob, has gone back to working on his NitroTracker application and we're happy to announce v0.3 of his app.

For those who don't know what this app does, it's basically a music sequencing app that runs on your DS. It'll allow you to edit pieces of audio on the fly and, combined with DSMIDIWiFi, you can also use it as a sequencer for your own applications. Best of all, it now has MIDI support, which gives it more versatility.

You can find the full changelog after the jump, but below are the basic features that have been added for NitroTracker v0.3. Just make sure you check the readme and documentation so you can install it correctly. Enjoy the download!

Tob, the musician slash DS hacker extraordinaire who hails from Germany, just made another cool midi app for the DS, the DSMidiWifi.

From what I understand, this is quite similar to his DS tracker application, NitroTracker. You see, the NitroTracker enables its users to create lovely music on the DS. You can do that by either modifying some samples or recording your own! Cool, eh?

Well, the DSMidiWifi enables your DS to "send and receive media messages" via WiFi, so you can tweak music sent to your DS either from another DS or from another PC. Anyway, the said program is still in its rough stages, but our source says "it will be released ASAP." Meanwhile, take a look at the video demo of this app, so you can have an idea how it works.

0xtob has released another great version of his brilliant NDS application. NitroTracker is a music tracker for the NDS system, utilizing all of the NDS's capabilities. This application took me by storm when I first saw it, and I'm still impressed by the quality of the work done on this homebrew. The tracker supports the popular XM format which Winamp and various other music applications can play! This new version adds a sample editor which will allow you to modify recorded/loaded files with the stylus. Aside from the new sample editor, the following have been added/fixed in v0.2 -
