If you're nowhere near the E For All venue in Los Angeles, you don't have to get bummed out because you still have a chance to know just what went down this crazy Friday. Major titles from the industry's biggest companies have been exhibited much to the crowd's delight. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the popular Nintendo DS handheld took center stage at 1:00 PM in the afternoon. It was presented in the middle of a double whammy from Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock which jammed at 12:00 PM and again at 2:00 PM. At 3:00 PM L.A. Lakers point guard Derek Fisher and L.A. Clippers shooting guard Corey Magette treated the crowd to some virtual hardcourt action as they went one on one in EA Sports' NBA Live 08 (Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360). Speaking of celebrities, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Jim Ross of WWE Raw were right there in the THQ booth from 12:00PM to 2:00 PM to sign autographs for their young fans. They're promoting WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 (Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360) by THQ. By 4:00 PM, Activision took the spotlight again to show everyone the beauty that is its upcoming shooting title Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360). At 5:00 PM it was Namco Networks' turn to show off what it's got by holding its Ms. Pac-Man Championships using old-school arcade machines. Namco's contest coincided with Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 3) taking the stage. The evening held the climax for Friday as Video Games Live was featured at the new Nokia Theatre which is very close to the Staples Center and the L.A. Convention Center. Fans were free to visit and enjoy the exhibits held there. We've got more E For All updates coming so keep it with us. |

As we enter October, Halo 3's groundbreaking launch finally passed, and it's time for other big titles to shine. Will you be able to stay on your couch playing Slayer matches when The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is on shelves? Fine, so you can play that during breaks. How about Project Gotham Racing 4 or Enemy Territorry: Quake Wars? Can you resist high-speed racing or topnotch FPS action that don't involve Spartans? If those games don't ring a bell, this week's got other goodies to float your boat. The famous bandicoot is back in Crash of the Titans for a spin on various platforms, while EA Sports' NBA Live '08 go at it against 2K Sports' NBA 2K8 as both vye for hard court domination. Our favorite superhero Spider-man is also making an appearance on all platforms in Spider-man: Friend or Foe. PC gamers, on the other hand, are getting much love from budget titles to full blown role-playing games.Project Gotham Racing 4. Two years have passed after the previous installment in the PGR series, and Project Gotham Racing 4 is finally coming with major improvements that Bizarre Creations worked hard for. Apart from a revamped career mode, revised Kudos system, new tracks and iconic vehicles, this entry introduces the dynamic weather system.

A lot of players were really hurt when they announced that the E3 was going to be closed to the public. For those who are still harboring a grudge,
feel free to skip over this article. For those who are interested
though, IGN was recently able to get a hold of a listing of games that
will be featured in the said event.A lot of the companies still haven't announced the games that they will be showcasing in this year's E3. However, quite a few of the big name developers have already announced their offerings. Of course this is still a preliminary list and more will be added as the days go by. Anyway, here we have the list of companies who will be attending but haven't announced any games yet then the confirmed games that will be showcased in the E3. Now excuse this blogger as he goes to a corner and cry out my frustration at not being able to go this event. Companies who haven't announced games yet:

Gamers familiar with Mad Catz's line of console accessories will be happy to know that in a recent announcement, the manufacturer has renewed its license with the National Basketball Association (NBA).What this means on the gaming side is that Mad Catz will once again be developing game controllers, faceplates, and console skins featuring logos and colors based on the NBA's 30 teams. This new NBA line-up is targetted for the PlayStation 2 (PS2), PlayStation 3 (PS3), Xbox, Xbox 360, PSP, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Wii consoles. It will be noted that the company had previously offered NBA-themed controllers back during the NBA 2004-2005 season. As Mad Catz CEO Darren Richardson commented on the matter, Basketball has proven to be an extremely popular genre for gamers and we are thrilled to announce the continuation of our license agreement with the NBA. Our new NBA line will offer fans more ways than ever to demonstrate their support for their favorite teams and we look forward to launching controllers and other quality accessories that enhance the gaming experience of our customers. Keep posted in case we pick up more details on this renewed product line, which is expected to be available at NBA.com, NBA arena stores, and online retailers. |

Third time's the charm. This rings true for RealTime Worlds' crime-fighting superhero title Crackdown as it rolls into a dominating third week on top of GameFly's 360 charts. Despite what other people may say about what triggered Crackdown's success, this US$ 60 game is making waves. And what's this? Electronic Arts' NBA Street Homecourt still latches on to Crackdown's tail, keeping the second seat warm and comfortable. Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition still hangs on to the top 3 spot. But the highlight of that week was the significant requests for God of War II for the Playstation 2. Here are the rest of the results of GameFly's game popularity charts for the week ending February 16. Xbox 360

Game releases aplenty this week. They cover pretty much all of the gaming blogs we have here on QJ, too (good thing, that). The ones I'm personally looking forward to in this batch of new titles are flOw, Crackdown, and the DS title Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja. I'd like to try my hand at THQ and Gas Powered Games' Supreme Commander too but my strategic skillz are a bit lacking.
Anyway, here's the list of new releases for the week beginning February 19. February 19

In spite of all the issues surrounding the future of EGM, the business still has to go on. And go on, it did. EGM has some rumors and reviews in their upcoming issue (#213, March 2007). Going over NeoGAF, we have found an interesting thread which talks of the said EGM reviews and rumors. Let's start with the rumors first, shall we?
On to the reviews. Virtua Fighter 5 was deemed as EGM's Game of the Month. They also have good reviews for Crackdown, NBA Street Homecourt (PS3, Xbox 360), and Battlestations: Midway among many other games. |
