Rockman

The "sequel series" to Mega Man Battle Network or what the Japanese call Rockman.EXE is being called "Rockman Rebirth" at the moment. Like Mega Man ZX, which takes place a considerable amount of time after Mega Man Zero, this game will take place a good deal after Mega Man Battle Network. The screenshots show that the overworld isn't very different from the GBA games, but the battle sequences seem to be vastly different. Check 'em out! Click the thumbnails for a better view.

Mega Man DSMega Man DS 2

Another Mega Man title is coming to DS owners - Capcom's New Mega Man DS. This time out, players will be in control of a new hero Hoshikawa Subaru. To be able to explore and see the virtual world Radio Wave World, the new protagonist will be equipped with special glasses called Visualizer, and what's a hero without a sidekick? Hoshikawa Subaru will have War Rock as partner in this new DS game.

New Mega Man DS will also see other characters stepping into the limelight and aiding the development of the story. Ushijima Gonta, OX Fire, Shirogane Luna, Saishouin Kizamaro, and Amachi (a mysterious disappearing man who worked in Subaru's father's research company JAXA) will all be present in this DS title.

The first screens of this Capcom title, , published in Japanese magazine Coro Coro Comics, reveal that the game will be sporting cell-shaded 3D graphics.

New Mega Man DS will be out next winter in Japan with no word on a U.S. release. Meanwhile, enjoy these scans from the Coro Coro Comics.

mega man zxAll right Mega Man ZX fans, we know you've been waiting for this game. We gave you tons of Mega Man ZX info. We gave you lots of Mega Man ZX screenshots and the boxart. We gave you a teaser trailer. We do know Japanese DS gamers are going ga-ga over the game since its release over there yesterday. But we can't give you details on when fans outside Japan will be able to play the game. Yeah, we think that sucks, too. But, hey, maybe this Mega Man ZX trailer will cheer you up...if it doesn't add to your mega-frustration that is...

Some lucky Rockman ZX owners are also owners of a special DVD. What does this DVD contain you ask? Well, something seems to have been uploaded to YouTube pretty quickly. Seeing as it is unavailable outside Japan, we figured we'd better let you look at it! It's a trailer for the upcoming sequel series to Mega Man Battle Network. Currently, it is named "Rockman Rebirth."

The only thing we can tell from the trailer is that the new battle system is more "3D" and that the characters are all new but seem to be based off the character designs from the GBA Battle Network games. Check it out!

Mega Man Battle Network
6 was supposed to be the last of the series but it looks like Capcom has no intention of letting the franchise die. Scans from Coro Coro Comic reveal that a new series may arise from the ashes of the last. It would be to Mega Man Battle Network what Mega Man ZX is to Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero. How many Mega Man franchises are we on anyway?

The new game will supposedly incorporate new 3D elements and have a new combat system. Like Mega Man ZX, the hero of the new game will be able to transform into Mega Man using an item. The release date is currently set for winter 2006 in Japan.

Around how much does Capcom expect to ship in the next year and for what systems? We have that info now for you all!
  • Dead Rising (360) - 660,000 unitsMMZ
  • Lost Planet (360) - 740,000 units
  • Okami (PS2) - 390,000 units
  • Rockman / Megaman series (Various) - 910,000 units
  • Sengoku Basara 2 (PS2) - 250,000 units (Japan only)
  • Gyakuten Saiban 4 (NDS) - 200,000 units (Japan only)
Capcom knows we love Mega Man and they'll be milking him next year. What is this about Gyakuten Saiban 4 (Phoenix Wright 4) being Japan only? That better change after the second game hits English speaking shores next year. We also have information on how many titles for each system Capcom has planned. Surprisingly, PSP has more titles than the DS but they expect the titles on the DS to sell more per game than the PSP. It must be the Mega Man effect.
  • PlayStation 2 - 33 titles / 3.4 million units
  • PlayStation 3 - 3 titles / 150,000 units
  • PSP - 21 titles / 2.5 million units
  • Xbox - 1 title / 100,000 units
  • Xbox 360 - 6 titles / 1.85 million units
  • Game Boy Advance - 2 titles / 300,000 units
  • Nintendo DS - 10 titles / 1.6 million units
PS3? What PS3? It's all about the PS2 according to Capcom. Another surprise is that they currently have no plans for the Wii in its launch window. Looks like they'll be arriving late for the party. And if interviews with Shinji Mikami are to be believed, it'll be Mega Man. Or maybe Mega Man will appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
