QuickJump QuickPeek Halloween Edition - Image 1When was the last time you felt scared? Not just my-girl's-gonna-let-me-have-it scared, I'm talking soil-yourself-shamelessly scared. True enough, there might not be a video game out there that'll make you literally crap your pants, and it's far too impractical (and stupid) to find Leatherface to force your dinner down the backdoor. That said, let's just take a look at the things that come close.

Mega Kid - Image 1Nothing like a cute kid in a Mega Man costume to make your day. I wanted to be Mega Man when I was little too. Lucky for him, his dad's a gamer. Not only does he come with a left-handed buster, he also dons the oversized Mega Man boots to complete the look. Awww.

Nintendo DS Lite - Image 1This DS homebrew from LiraNuna is a demo demonstrating the ease of use of the DS for blending and creating impressive effects almost effortlessly. According to the dev, this project has actually been in his HDD since Halloween, and it's only now that he's been able to dig it up. Why is the Halloween bit relevant? You'll know  after the jump.

thumb - Image 1This is a category that's especially close to my heart, kudos to those who dared to risk all, who colored outside the lines and put the extra thinkin' effort into giving us something fresh.

Once again, a lot of our editors agreed on one very special title... Unreal Tournament III... just kidding!

Xbox 360 outsells PS3 in Japan for September - Image 1Third time's the charm for Microsoft. The latest numbers from Japan show that the Xbox 360 has once again outsold the PlayStation 3 for the third week running. And crunching some numbers reveal that the Xbox 360 outsold the PlayStation 3 for the entire month of September.

It's a little too early for Christmas miracles, so I'd say this is... a Halloween miracle?

Thumb - Image 1 It's been a few days since Halloween, so we'd rather honor the most memorable deaths that made gamers shriek, throw tantrums, and cry. Of course, along the line are deaths so dramantic, shocking, or simply sad that they're difficult to forget. In other words, a list of characters who died in ways that scarred our minds, or those we felt so attached to that seeing them perish became emotional. If it's not obvious enough, we'll have to warn you about major spoilers that await.

The creepiest Nintendo DS title yet is right around the corner. In fact, it's so close we can already smell the stench surrounding Dementium: The Ward. Well, maybe not, but Renegade Kid just announced that the game has gone gold and is already in manufacturing for its Halloween release.

Renegade Kid defines Dementium: The Ward as "the survival horror FPS is sure to scare the ***t out of players with killer sound and ambience, frightful enemies, and a disturbing story." Publisher Gamecock is already taking pre-orders on their official website which is cool and all, but what's a Dementium post without an equally demented video?

That said, the game's latest trailer you can find below reveals how withdrawn, anti-social folks can regain the spice in their lives. Or at least, how an extremely bored person can find something fun to do with the DS. Be wary though, because like previous Dementium: The Ward videos, this one is also not for the fainthearted.

Heaven help you.

If this is a good thing or a bad thing, we'll leave that up to you, as Nintendo U.K has confirmed that the Tingle, the very unique money-loving character that was first seen in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, will be heading to the U.K. once more.

Mogitate Tingle Bara Iro Rupee Land, the new RPG starring Tingle, is currently in the middle of English translation and has an undetermined U.K. release date. It will, however, be renamed Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, though we have no idea why Tingle would be freshly-picked.

We only have two things to say about this: On the one hand, we hope that foreign audiences can accept this new game readily without much trouble. On the other hand, we do not want anyone wearing those ridiculous costumes to be out and about in the streets, for whatever reason. Except maybe Halloween.

TOT

The end of the month is coming up, and while you guys will be out there running around trick-or-treating, we thought we'd tickle your gaming sweet tooth by giving you a compilation list of the games coming out for the next few days. Once again, save
yourself the trouble of sweating out a long walk to you local retail store, and enjoy our Halloween treat for  'ya.

And while there's a lot of games to look forward to, we'll have to honestly say that our top picks would have to be The Sims 2: Pets (Sickeningly cute animals, go figure), and FEAR (This one just for this holiday's sake).
