Grandma gets a new DSi LL - Image 1When it comes to the two newest gaming portables, it seems that Nintendo walked a better path than Sony. Sure, the target market may be different in some respects, with the DSi being aimed to the elderly as well, but when it comes right down to it, the new DSi LL is selling better than the PSP Go.

Nintendo DSi - Image 1A mere eight months after its November 1, 2008 release in Japan, the Nintendo DSi zooms far ahead of every other platform to ring up a total of 3,062,920 units sold as of August 2, 2009. Enterbrain released the figures, as reported by Famitsu.

One in five Japanese folks own a DS - Image 1With all the hardware sales reports we've gotten from Enterbrain and Media Create, it's a pretty well-known fact that the DS has sold very well in Japan. But it takes a simple pic from Nintendo to really rub it in and make us see the bigger picture - one in every five Japanese folks now own a Nintendo DS. Talk about ownage.

Square EnixFor over a year now, it's been the same old story in Famitsu's Most Wanted list: Japanese gamers who took part in their polls voted Final Fantasy XIII as the most anticipated title.
