Is Faith leaping off to other platforms specifically to the Wii, DS and PSP? We've heard of the game getting a sequel, but not this. Unseen64 is reporting that Electronic Arts has commissioned Backbone Entertainment to create a demo of Mirror's Edge (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) for the aforementioned platforms. Electronic Arts has now confirmed that they, too, will be holding a presscon at GamesCom. Theirs will last for just an hour, to be followed shortly by Sony's massive three-hour press-a-thon.

Need for Speed: Nitro, the first entry in the NFS racing franchise exclusively made for the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms, has been given an official launch date by Electronic Arts. Dates and details after the jump.

Electronic Arts and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) will be hosting a panel entitled "Homophobia in Virtual Communities" to discuss methods on how to combat discrimination and hatred language in online gaming communities.

A University of Michigan economics professor was recently brought in as an expert witness in a class-action lawsuit filed by a pair of gamers that accuses Electronic Arts of using its exclusive licensing deal with the NFL to muscle Madden NFL competitor NFL 2K out of the picture. Dr. Jeffrey MacKie-Mason alleged that EA overcharged those who bought Madden games between US$ 701 million and US$ 926 million from 2006 through 2009. Big numbers there, but analyst Michael Pachter thinks it's nothing more than horse manure.
