I like Overlord and I love freebies, so this Overlord pre-order promo from GameStop is definitely relevant to my interests. See, anyone who pre-orders a copy of Overlord II, Overlord Dark Legend and Overlord Minions from GameStop will receive one of four different minion figurines. |

One of the more heated issues in the video game industry right now is the thrust of some studios to fight video game rentals and second hand game sales. GameStop tosses in its two cents saying that this will only end up hurting gamers, and even sales of new games. |

Earlier this month, comScore found that the Nintendo Wii was the most popular item in UK search engines, which is why it doesn't really come as all that surprising that the console has turned out to be the most popular item on UK's eBay. Read how the handhelds and other consoles fared in the full article. |

There's a new The Legend of Zelda-themed DS mod up for grabs in Ebay, and its just in time for the recent US release of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Do take note that the bidding is taking place in Australia, however, and that bets are placed in Australian dollars. This DS mod sports a nice, cool white-and-blue color scheme, topped off with Link's sword and shield emblem. We couldn't help but feel that green or gold should have sufficed, but this blue motif is still nifty in its own right. Another cool feature is that green LEDs are placed underneath the shield, giving the shield a nice, ethereal glow everytime the DS is turned on. This nice effect just about puts this DS mod in the same category of coolness as the NES Controller and Koopa mods. The highest bid as of this writing is AU$ 285 (about US$ 255). 15% of the bets will be donated to Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity, giving the winning bidder a feeling of doing something good in the world, along with the purchase. Interested in bidding? Check out the Read link for more pictures and details on how to bid! |

No, you aren't seeing things. That really is a gigantic DS modded to enormous proportions. Comcast user "olimar" shows what he did with the use of two tablet PC screens, an FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) logic chip to translate the hardware, a Nintendo DS, and some other parts he had "lying around" to create the Jumbotron DS.0 The two screens simulate the double screen of the Nintendo DS while the pen input is taken care by the FPGA and sent back to the DS. It can also take screenshots via a PC serial port. He also noted the parts he used as well as the approximate cost of each:
Either way, it surely is an ingenious display of the possibilities you can push a hardware's capabilities to its limit. The full article awaits after the jump! |

If you're one of the many Nintendo or Mario die-hard fans, there's something currently on eBay which you'll probably drown yourself drooling over. It's a Mario Family figure set autographed by no less than Nintendo main man Shigeru Miyamoto himself! The set isn't only signed, Miyamoto even wrote some text blurbs to make the set all the more candid. He did this in his recent trip to New York City to visit the Nintendo World Store there. As usual, the winner gets the honor of paying all the shipping expenses. The bid is currently set at US$ 1,200 and rising. As usual, the winning bidder takes the responsibility of paying all the shipping expenses. It's a pricey trinket, but every collector knows it's one of a kind and darn near priceless to them. The read URL takes you right to the bid page. |

The Nintendo DS Hot Summer Peach Edition no.001 is apparently so hot it's fetching more sales than Sony's Playstation 3. It's going for a whopping US$ 690.00 on eBay right now with the auction lasting two more days and nine hours as of this article's writing. This unit is the first print from the limited console run of the Nintendo DS Peach Pink. It was given as part of the Club Nintendo Hot Summer Contest and only 200 of the said units were produced. The product has been called by the seller as "One of the most rarest consoles of Nintendo DS System." If you're interested in this, click on the read link below to head to its ebay page and place your bids there. Be sure to keep checking back here for more news on the Nintendo DS. |

It's certainly cute, and it has a logo of the flagship Pokemon printed onto it, too. No doubt it'll be a hot item for Pokemaniacs worldwide. The sad part about it is, it's not going to be available for retail - probably something you can only get through events or competitions. Another nice thing we can't have, I guess. But there's always the off-chance that some entrepreneur Pokefan might put it up for sale on eBay, right? |

Here are some more shots of what went on at the Square Enix Party 2007 a few days ago. It turns out that the organizers were actually nice enough to give away a free Nintendo Wii, but not just any Wii, the creators of the very popular RPG franchise Dragon Quest signed it and we're very sure it'll sell for a bundle on eBay if the winner ever decides to sell it. There are also some screens of the featured games flashing in the big screen which look like they're straight out of DQ and Monsters: Joker. They don't look all that good from these shots, but right now that's all we have. Square Enix did more than just give away prizes that night. There was a lot of good music and some cos-play for fans. Trailers of games such as Final Fantasy XIII were also shown, as well as a poll on which Square Enix title fans would like to see a remake of. You can see the rest of the highlight shots if you click on Full Article! |

If somebody outbid you with that Zelda themed DS Lite mod and you think you might have missed on a rare, collector's item, then fret not - we found one more "rare" Nintendo DS up for grabs at eBay. Seller theonejackiechen is putting a Nintendo DS allegedly signed by Shigeru Miyamoto, Satoru Iwata, and Charles Martinet, for auction. In case you're not a big Mario fan, Martinet is the voice of our favorite chubby, Italian plumber. Anyhow, the seller explained that he got the three to sign the DS during E3 2006. As of writing, the current bid is at US$ 305.00 and the bidding would end on May 19 11:30 PDT - that's still far from today, so you have lots of days to think this deal over. Finally, 25% of the total sale will go to the Child's Play organization. Interested people could check out the eBay site through our read link below. Go ahead and ogle, examine, and even bid if you want. |
