Iron Man as seen in the Marvel Comics Civil War series - Image 1When you've got a powerful suit of armor, what do you with it? Why, you use it, of course. In the case of the Iron Man video game, that would mean using it against tanks, missiles, fighter jets and what not. Sega's captured it on video, too. Turn to the full article after the jump for some high-flying armored action.

The 2007 Comic-con in San Diego played host to a number of Capcom titles, one of which is none other than Phoenix Wright 3: Trials and Tribulations, the third installment of the lawyer-sim franchise that's gripping a lot of handheld gamers to the witness stands. In this video interview, we have producer Minae Matsukawa giving her two cents of Gyakuten Saiban's success in North America.

While the game was originally for the GBA, its DS remakes had continuously left the Japanese gamers always expecting the next installment. Bringing it over to the US though was a risk that, bless the heavens above, Capcom fortunately took. And now, where does Ace Attorney Nick find himself? He's continuously cos-played, Internet meme'd, and parodied. Which is, in our court records, a very flattering position to be in.

A day ago, fellow blogger Sally B. broke the news that Microsoft was making plans to create a DS version of Rare Limited's Viva Pinata game, originally on the Xbox 360. The news was announced over at the the recently concluded Comic-Con 2007 event over in San Francisco.

Now, in case you're wondering how the exact announcement looked, we've managed to pick up a video covering this said event. This vid should uncover a few more details on how the game is expected to look when it makes its jump to the handheld. Just be sure to watch it with a decent set of earphones - the sound is a tad fuzzy. That's all for the moment. Check back when we pick up for info in this game, which looks to become Animal Crossing's contender

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Image 1Yoda was a tough but fair mentor to his padawan Luke Skywalker and he grew up as a kick-ass Jedi Knight. Now what would happen if your mentor was Darth Vader? Ok, imagine being raised by Darth Vader and then given a light saber and having mind-boggling control over the force. Result, Star Wars: Force Unleashed.

One thing's for sure, being padawan to Darth Vader can't be easy. Even though the apprentice says he is committed to the Dark Side, Vader won't be an easy master. You're gonna get a whoopin' from both your enemies and the guy who was the Dark Side's rallying point for years.

Vader even subjects his apprentice to psychological torment, playing him to an Imperial pilot named Juno Eclipse, to see how love would affect his alliances. Hayden Blackman, project lead of the game, comments: "He's Vader. He's like the worst father figure imaginable."

Developers explain during the San Diego Comic-Con that because the protagonist is a "secret apprentice," he is expected to kill Imperial troops as well as rebels to avoid being found out. They also said that there will be a lot of familiar faces although did not name specifics. As for being able to play Darth Vader himself, Blackman simply stated that we "stay tuned."

Expect an all out demonstration of the force in this game. Blackman describes it as "amped up, out of control [and] over the top." The game will be released spring of next year for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP and Nintendo DS.

Viva Pinata - Image 1For those people who wanted Viva Pinata so badly but don't have Microsoft's Xbox 360, there's good news for you: Viva Pinata for the DS has been announced at Comic-Con 07, which pretty much confirms the rumor dating a few months ago about Rare Ltd.'s colorful candy-filled animals migrating to the Nintendo DS.

It is indeed good news for those who want Viva Pinata on the go, and it will be a blast trading pinatas with friends, and in the youngsters' case, classmates. There are some people, who see Viva Pinata differently, though, and may think that it's actually bad for kids in the long run. But that's a different thing altogether.

Thanks to Kotaku for the pic!

At Comic-con where thousands of hobbyists flock together, there are more than just collective sweat and cosplayers. An event so big can host all sorts of gimmicks, from dance contests to acting competitions. For us gamers, there are only two things to look out for: game demos, and game related merchandise.

Nintendo may be a no-show, but other big names in the industry were present to show their goods. Square Enix, for one, held nothing back as hundreds of figures went on display.

We're still wondering why no reports of stampedes or sudden aggression have surfaced, since any Final Fantasy fan of late will go crazy after seeing SE's offering. Plenty of characters that spawned during the beginning of the 3D era up to now are present, meaning FFVII and beyond. Don't be fooled though, because Cloud and his crew aren't in their original form - the FFVII characters are in their Advent Children versions.

Of course, the timeless classic Final Fantasy Tactics was also around. Tetsuya Nomura's Kingdom Hearts II got enough love, too. Other games under SE's belt also got their own space, such as Full Metal Alchemist and Valkyrie Profile.

Many of the goods displayed during Comic-con were available off the bat, but some are yet to fly off the shelves. Pretty much everything will be available from Squeenix' online store. To find some more of the photos IGN took, including the ones above, click on the Source link below.

Square Enix - Image 1

You gotta hand it to Square Enix. When it comes to drawing power and fan devotion, they're right in on the A-List. In this year's Comic-Con, their gear and memorabilia are selling like crazy. Check out the loot.

The most popular franchises that the revered Japanese firm are all represented. Knights of the Round summon figures, Cactuar plush dolls, trading cards, Kingdom Hearts figures and many more are displayed in the booth and interested buyers seem not to mind the price tags. These are, after all, items that can't be found elsewhere.

If you're low on budget, looking around the place and drooling over the merchandise would probably suffice. When will we see SOLDIER uniforms going on retail? We don't know but we'll be ready when they come.

san diego comic con - Image 1Disappointed at the last E3? Capcom has something big - even bigger than its E3 offerings - up its sleeve in the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. With gaming stations, tournaments, demos, freebies, signings...heck, even Nerdcore rappers, Capcom is going to give out a big shebang for the already exciting Comic Con.

From the looks of things, anyone not impressed with how the E3 Media and Business Summit turned out will find themselves enjoying in what Capcom has in store for its fans. Merchandise such as exclusive Street Fighter shirts made for the comic comvention will be available, and there will be cosplay contests. There will also be autograph signing sessions with Minae Matsukawa, the producer of the Ace Attorney series. Tournaments will also be held in a 20x20 boxing ring arena. How cool is that?

Aside from what we've just mentioned, Capcom will be showcasing its games in the San Diego Comic Con. For the list of Capcom games and titles from other companies, you can check out our previous article.
