From this blogger's perspective, Traveller's Tales' Lego Batman: The Videogame (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, DS, PC) is looking really good. Why, you may ask? The video game's producer, Loz Doyle, gave out a few interesting facts about the game that any Batman fan will be happy to see: how they came up with the story, some villains' various abilities that you could use, Batman and Robin's different suits, among a lot of other things. Want to know what he had to say? Scoot on over to the full article. |

Invisible in the shadows, prowling the streets of Gotham City is the Dark Knight, Batman. Lego Batman, that is, prowling the streets of Lego Gotham City. The game's been as mysterious as the character but now it's finally confirmed for a multi platform release! Some new details have also emerged and lie in wait (not prowling though, that's just silly) in the full article. |

This one's just off the excitement meter! Electronic Arts (EA) finally confirmed that it indeed acquired the license to the Simpsons video game franchise and that a new game will be appearing on platforms PlayStation 3 (PS3), Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 (PS2), Wii, DS, and PlayStation Portable (PSP) this fall. The game will not be based on the movie, mind you. The premise for the title is that the whole family realized they are actually trapped in a video game. Knowing how [dys]functional this family is, what the Simpsons did was use the opportunity to give themselves special powers. Example of these powers include Homer changing into Homerball after picking up edible power-ups (doughnuts?) and lava version of the Homerball after eating chili pepper. Likewise, Bart has his signature slingshot attack and he can morph to Bartman as well. A level called "Around the World in 80 Bites" features eating his way through an international food festival in Springfield. In terms of graphics, the characters will be cel-shaded but EA will be using a technique that will flatten the character models thus recreating the 2D and hand-drawn look in the long-running TV show. Speaking of which, all voices will be done by the show's original actors and the program's writers will also be doing the video game script. The Simpsons will have a total of 16 episodes (levels) all in all and each one will occur in a new environment with a unique title and storyline. New characters as well as new environments other than Springfield will be present as well. Furthermore, each episode will feature two Simpsons family members, and players can switch between the two at any time. And if you're still wondering about the website's allusion to Grand Theft Auto, that is not entirely just a publicity stunt as the game will be making a lot of reference to pop culture and famous video game franchise like Medal of Honor, Batman Begins, Grand Theft Auto, and EverQuest. The Simpsons is expected to hit retail stores Fall 2007. |

Lego-philes, rejoice! After the huge success of Lego Star Wars and the sequel it spawned, Warner Bros. and Lego has signed a deal to produce a Lego Batman title. According to Variety, Warner Bros. also managed to nab TT Games, the studio that developed the two Lego Star Wars titles.Lego Batman will follow the familiar Lego Star Wars template (picture Lego Batman sliding down the Lego Bat-pole and out of the Lego Batcave) and will be a family-friendly title. It is currently slated for a 2008 release date on multiple videogame platforms. If you guys remember, this title was announced for the Xbox 360 last year. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will finance and publish the game, while TT Games will reprise its Lego Star Wars role and develop Lego Batman. North American distribution will be handled by Warner Bros. as well. |
