QuickJump QuickPeek - Image 1For this offering of our weekly recap, we see a resurgence of all sorts in the gaming industry. Finally we see a PS3 kicking ass in the sales charts, finally we see another big homebrew breakthrough for the PSP, and finally, it looks like things are definitely looking up for the videogame world in general. It is certainly looking like it's gonna be a happy holidays we're having this year.

With their promised new wares, any event definitely is an opportunity to show what they've got -- and to impress. Speaking at an opening keynote in UK for the 4th Annual Develop Conference in Brighton, the GaiKai founder expressed his belief that "It won't be long before 100 per cent of games are all online."

QuickJump QuickPeek - Image 1And the build up for E3 2009 continues. The good news is that the pre-E3 dry spell hasn't quite started yet, but we're in the final stretch here, folks. iPhone games - Image 1Sony says they're not afraid of Apple's gadgets. Nintendo, on the other and, says that their new DSi is not after the same pie. Who to believe? If you'd rather listen to BusinessWeek, then both Sony and Nintendo are in a phase of denial. Because according to their report, Apple's gadgets are soon to become "a mobile gaming force."

DS PSP iPhone - Image 1So there's the new PSP-3000, the new DSi, and the iPhone. How different is the portable gaming market now? Satoru Iwata already gave his thoughts on the subject matter - that they're not after iPhone's market share. And who can forget? Even John Koller had a thing to say about the current competition - that the DSi may be successful, but will remain for kiddies under 12. So now, will anyone else give their own two cents? No, duh.
