If you're one of those DS fans who just can't get enough of DS homebrew (you got Infantile Paralysiser's website bookmarked in your web browser) well, today's your lucky day. Errr no, this isn't an update from Infantile Paralysiser but it's just as fun.Anyway, we just heard that Tassu from the PAlib forums has made a nifty DS homebrew game called, TagDS. According to the dev, it's a "two player 3D action game that is played on one DS. I coded it from start to finish last night. I think this turned out to be a very fun game." He also adds that he's nearly done in PAlib. The said dev seems to be open for comments and suggestions, so it will probably be nice if you can give Tassu a heads-up once you're done checking out the game. It's up for grabs here, just click the "download" link below. Download: [TagDS] |

Speed speed speed. Usually, when you're racing cars, you'd need a whole lot of money. Repairs, tune-ups, not to mention buying the actual car itself. Thanks to videogames, racing fans don't have to shell out obscene amounts of dough to get their speed fix, and thanks to homebrew, you can even get the games for free. Today we've got one such game for you guys: Whee! DS, an incredibly fun 3D racing game for - you guessed it - the DS. When you start a new game in Whee! DS, you only have a single track to run through and in order to unlock the next track, you have to win that first one. This piece of homebrew goodness has randomly generated tracks, so if you're looking for something with great replay value then this game has that by the bucketload. The D-Pad is used for steering, the A button for acceleration, and the B button for brake/sharper turning. You can use the L and R buttons for items. According to Tassu, the one who coded Whee! DS, the game "uses SRAM for saving and doesn't give a warning or anything like that before formatting," so be extra careful when you hit that save button. Give the download link below a little click to get your hands on Whee! DS. Download: [Whee! DS] |

One of the entries to the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition for this year is the musical game Gioioso! A Weird Music Game which was made by Tassu. For one thing, this game is far from being a demo, since there are several complete stages to challenge players everywhere, not to mention an actual background story!
As the author himself has stated, the story goes: "Dr. Loopy Discord has invented a horrible machine that can materialize music into small living balls called the Riffballs. He calls the machine Retro Resonance. Then by accident the machine escaped from Dr. Discord and started to furiously materialize all the music in the world into cute little riffballs.
But the riffballs can not live in the solid world, they can only live when they are in the form of sound waves. So all the music in the world is dying! Dr. Discord calls for you, the player, to help him save all music in the world." The aim of the game is to save the riffballs by dragging one with your stylus and then bumping it into another of the same color. They then burst back into their original musical form. At the moment, the game has four survival modes, and the author has noted that he plans to add a story mode as well. Download: [Gioioso! A Weird Music Game for the NDS] |
