Like they say, once you're at the top, there's nowhere to go but down.
In Shigeru Miyamoto's case, he went down quite a bit. After being at
the top of Time 100 last year, the Nintendo gaming
mastermind drops to #42 of Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential
people from various fields and industries. So who else made it to the list? Find out after the jump. |

Steve Jobs once said that the iPod Touch is the best portable device for playing games on. Now, we may actually have a point of reference to see if he's right, if this analyst proves to be correct. According to Mike Hickey, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS will most likely be ported to the iPhone. More predictions in the full article. |

The figurative gauntlet was thrown at Apple's recent Let's Rock event in San Francisco. According to Steve Jobs, the iPod Touch is "the best portable device for playing games". That's a grand statement right there, but then again, if you're selling something you wouldn't be touting it as the second-, third-, or whatever-best gaming device, now would you? |

Barron's Online has released their third list for "The World's Best CEOs", and look who made his debut in the list for 2007. It's none other than Nintendo's Satoru Iwata.Iwata got in the exclusive top 30 list, thanks to the innovative Wii. He is but one of the ten overseas CEOs in the list, sharing the spotlight with three new other foreign newbies. It is actually not surprising to find Iwata recognized for his stint as Nintendo's CEO. The company did see, after all, a vast increase in its stocks, and the success of its next-gen console undoubtedly contributed a lot to that spike in revenues. Steven Jobs also is in the list, apparently as a "Returnee". Barron's describes Jobs as "the ultimate CEO who matters", and deemed that his company, Apple, runs ahead Microsoft by miles in terms of innovations. |

From the most intelligent Mollusk in the universe comes another homebrew app for the DS called MapViewerDS. Now, even if you're not the Einstein of invertebrates you'd know from the title alone what Mollusk's new app is about. But we'll tell you anyway. MapViewerDS allows DS users to view one of the 30 metro/train maps from cities all over this wonderful world of ours. Why would you want to do that? Because its the next best thing to teletransportation. This is only the first release and Mollusk calls it "pretty useless for now". But we're pretty sure most great things started out as"pretty useless" including the first home computer and look at Bill Gates and Steve Jobs now. The system uses PAFS so adding new maps is a breeze. Imagine if every DS user in the world added his/her own location map to this app. MapViewer is also simple to use. Download the file (which includes .nds, .ds.gba, sc.nds versions) and install. Use the stylus to move around. Up and Down corresponds to Zoom in and Zoom out. Download: [MapViewerDS: First Release] |
