After four years of staying on top, it's the first time for the Wii to experience a sales decline. Satoru Iwata owns up to the issue, but remains optimistic about Nintendo bouncing back into the game. Much of that is apparent as early as now - Nintendo is steadily adding more games into WiiWare and Virtual Console, grabbing more big Wiixclusives, unleashing the Black Wii, and even introduces a new king-sized DSi.

TGS may have wrapped up but we're still getting small updates here and there about the stuff they showed in Tokyo that many of us haven't seen yet. From Square Enix comes this new trailer for Final Fantasy Gaiden: The Four Warriors of Light,, where we meet our warriors for the first time. Come on and say hi.

Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and yes, even Kingdom Hearts. Square Enix stands on the pillars of its great franchises, those three among them. If you love those three, then this might come as good news to you - Yoichi Wada wants to add two to three more franchises to that list.

It's been a while since we've heard of any industry-related job cuts, and for some time back there, it looked like everything was getting back on the right track. Then we get this. Square Enix Japan is being rumored to be getting ready to bring down the axe on some 200 to 300 jobs in their company.

Square Enix has announced a date for the PAL launch of Intelligent Systems' Dragon Quest Wars, a turn-based strategy game featuring monsters from the Dragon Quest series. Details after the jump.

Sonic fans are a dedicated lot. No matter the depths recent Sonic games have sunk to, they're still there, waiting for the spiky speedster to race back into glory. There are also the very few who take their dedication to new heights -- fans like Rich Kuta, who is actually making a feature-length animated Sonic film.

Just because Square Enix is busy answering the DLC question for Final Fantasy doesn't mean they're gonna let their other projects lose out on updates. Let's look ahead to the Tokyo Game Show 2009, where the famed RPG publisher is set to bring some Dragon Quest into the event with two titles under the franchise.

Adding DLC on Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) is not the only thing that Square Enix is taking into consideration. Yoshi Kitase reveals that they are in fact considering putting downloadable content to future Final Fantasy titles. Read more after the jump.

Nintendo's still not giving in to the lures of a price drop, and really, why should they? They have the two bestselling consoles in this generation, both home and handheld. If you think about it, they can afford to keep the Wii at its price point. The good thing though is that this week, they've started making a few concessions. Well one, really.
