The Tony Hawk video game franchise is already a winner in itself, but Activision, Neversoft, and Tony Hawk still saw it fit to do some overhaul in the franchise's direction. Dubbed as the "Tony Hawk Innovation Plan," what can fans expect from this move? Read more in the full article. |

Who'd have thunk it? Adam Yauch a.k.a. MCA of the Beastie Boys will be showing off his mad skateboarding skills (at least virtually) in Activision's upcoming skater game, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. He'll be one of the new faces that will grace the famous, if improbable, line up of bonus skaters for the game. Included in this update is the complete soundtrack listing for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, totalling a hefty 54 licensed songs all in all. Included in this list will be famous bands that play to the tune which has marked this high-velocity series, such as the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Slick Rick, and Jurassic 5. Activision also announced an added bonus for those getting the Xbox 360 version of the game. The game will include a five song demo of "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." While the demo will be available soon on the Xbox Live, this is definitely a freebie that will be hard to pass up on. Developed by Neversoft, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is scheduled for release during the last quarter of this year. It will be coming out for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Nintendo DS and Wii. Check out the complete list of songs and their respective artists right after the jump! |

DS owners mulling over what flashcart to purchase, attention: here's something you should know about one of your potential buys, the brand-spanking new CycloDS - a slow-mo feature that you can toggle on and of during gameplay with a simple button press. And to prove it, here's a video of the actual feature in action, activated in the middle of a skateboarding game.
While it certainly slows down the frantic gameplay to a more manageable level, one should note that the music doesn't slow down with the gameplay - thus eliminating any embarrassing sound warping (and not giving away the fact that you're practically cheating). However, this also in turn eliminates any usefulness it may have when rhythm games are concerned, specifically Elite Beat Agents and Ouendan 2, where the music being in time with gameplay is key. In any case, enjoy the video! |

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam is one of those titles out to prove that the DS can rock and roll as hard as any other handheld. The game features Tony Hawk, the best thing that ever happened to skateboarding. In Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, gamers compete in a downhill competition at sonic speeds. Breaking the sound barrier is just part of it. There's also performing tricks and outmaneuvering opponents in six locations around the world from the familiar (San Francisco) to Machu Picchu and Rio de Janeiro in South America all the way to Kilimanjaro in Africa. Players compete in time-based challenges in one of three gameplay modes: race, trick, and slalom. Adding aural thrill to the visual action is the all-out heavy metal rock soundtrack top billed by Iron Maiden. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam from Activision (now available for US$49.99) could be the adrenaline rush you've been waiting for. The game will also be seen on Wii later this year. Again we can thank the major developer conference- the Leipzig Games Convention, for gracing us with 3 brand new Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam screenshots. The Nintendo exclusive game coming out for the Wii, Nintendo DS ,and GBA features 9 playable characters including skateboarding legend Tony Hawk of course, arcade-style racing, a variety of skateboards to choose from and of course the legendary Create-A-Skater feature we have all come to know and love in the Tony Hawk series. There's nothing like spending hours on end trying to get your skater looking like yourself, only to come to a dead end when the game doesn't have the right facial features for you. Anyhow, lets get onto the screenshots! Activision have released these three screenshots in the wake of Leipzig in order to give you that fix you need for all the adrenaline your missing out on from not playing Tony Hawk games. Enjoy the eye candy. |

The boy on the famous N64 video that has been circulating in YouTube has stepped up and claimed his place. Brandon Kuzma is the kid on the video showing a boy and a girl who are still in their pajamas, opening presents on Christmas morning. During an the interview with DSmeet.com, Kuzma said that the video was first posted on his personal website he made after his insistent girlfriend said that it was funny. Then after posting it to a skateboard filming/editing/photo forum site, someone must have ripped it off and posted it in YouTube. The N64 video became so popular that the image of the kid with the new Nintendo sixty-four and Nintendo sixty-four car was immortalized.
Now that the kid is grown up, he is now auctioning the N64 on Ebay. He claims that he is not really a gamer since he spends his time filming skateboarding and short films, editing, working on his website, skateboarding and being with his girlfriend although he said that he plays 007 Golden Eye once in a while. We watched the video from YouTube and it is indeed funny, especially the boy's reaction upon seeing the N64. See for yourself! We wonder if kids today would have the same reaction upon getting a Wii on Christmas day. |

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam is the latest installment to the popular Tony Hawk franchise. This time around, the name of the game's head to head downhill racing. You'll be taking on the role of the Birdman himself or one of nine other characters and get to skate down some of the world's steepest terrains while doing tricks and trying to leave your opponents in the dust. Locations include San Francisco, Machu Picchu, and Hong Kong.
This game is being developed for the Nintendo DS by Vicarious Visions, who have honed their virtual skateboarding skills by adapting almost every previous Tony Hawk release for the Game Boy Advance. They have also worked on Tony Hawk's American Sk8land for the DS. The Nintendo DS version of Downhill Jam will have multiplayer support for up to 4 players using the DS's Wi-Fi connection. Tony hawk's Downhill Jam is also being developed for the Wii and the Game Boy Advance.
