Those who want to get more images of their much-awaited Final Fantasy games are in luck: Shonen Jump just released some new images for two upcoming Final Fantasy titles.First off is a quite large image of Zack Fair, protagonist of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. There are some quite telling screenshots of to the side of Zack's profile image, but even though we couldn't read Japanese we do know that the images look sweet, and the game most probably wouldn't disappoint its fans. Next, just below the Crisis Core splash, are some images from Final Fantasy A2: the Sealed Grimoire. It looks like the characters shown here are the last two tribes that will be included in the game. If we aren't mistaken, that red-headed kid on the left looks like an Egul, a tribe from Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. It's a hard fact that we just can't get enough of the Final Fantasy franchise. More updates to come! |

A small screenshot embedded in the scan also reveals that the two lead characters from PS2's Final Fantasy XII will be playable and not only hanging around as supporting characters. With Vaan and Penelo taking the spotlight in yet another DS Final Fantasy title, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, their being in FFA2 is quite a nifty Easter egg, much like Cloud being playable in the first Final Fantasy Tactics game. Not to mention a smart marketing move as well. All things considered, we really can't wait for the release of Final Fantasy Advance 2, which will be out in Japan this coming October 25. More updates as they come! |

For those of us who got hooked on Final Fantasy III and are now eagerly anticipating the release of the next bit of portable Final Fantasy gaming goodness, Final Fantasy IV for the Nintendo DS, here's a special treat - a scan from Shonen Jump, showing some of the game's wickedly-cool art and irresistibly-cute superdeformed versions of the characters we all know and love.Looking at the scan, it's clear that the people behind this DS remake - namely Matrix Software - has gotten a better hold of making games for the DS, as things are definitely looking more detailed and more natural this time around. The in-game characters carry their unique sense of personality, with easily-distinguishable features, costumes and facial expressions. Definitely something to look forward to - let's just cross our fingers and hope that a North American release will come soon. Updates as we get them, so enjoy the scan! |

Jeux France has an interesting pair of scans up from Shonen Jump magazine. In it, we are treated to additional pictures for the upcoming Square Enix game Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire. Not only that, but we also get a glimpse of what looks to be a new important character to the game. The pictures you see above are of a woman whom Jeux France has dubbed Irua. They're not quite certain of the name, but if you folks happen to have your Japanese language skills handy, perhaps you can inform us as well. We're currently at odds as to whether she's a fighter or a magic user though. The colored scan shows off both a sword and what looks to be a magic book. Whether that happens to be the Sealed Grimoire of the title is anyone's guess. In any event, if you pick up any more information on Final Fantasy Tactics A2, or happen to have a translation of the text handy, let us know! |

Three is a magic number. While Square Enix got heads rolling with the Final Fantasy III remake, plus the incoming Final Fantasy IV, the RPG-remake era of the Nintendo DS isn't over just yet. Man, it's sooo far from over. Because hailing from the sunny and sushi-loving shores of Japan are scans of the latest Shonen Jump magazine.
The scans confirm not one, not two, not even two and seven-tenth games to be remade. THREE individual remakes of Dragon Quest games are now on the queue! More specifically Dragon Quest IV (from the NES), Dragon Quest V (Super Famicom), and Dragon Quest VI (Super Famicom) are now all scheduled to come out for the DS. Well, considering that it's a package deal, some of you guys might remember that these three games are part of what some would dub as the Zenithia trilogy - all revolving around the castle in the sky (no to be confused with Hayao Miyazaki's movie). Check out the scans below, they've even got some screens posted up:

We've got some new scans fresh off Famitsu and Shonen Jump for Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire. The images show the game's different races to give us an idea of how they look this time around.
The Humans, Moogle, Viera, Bangaa and Seeq are all back for more action. As it was in the first FFTA, each race carries distinctive characteristics and attributes that make them well-suited for particular jobs and skills. This is important if you want to make sure that you're fighting at maximum efficiency all the time. Square Enix is still in the process of making tweaks to the actual gameplay but it's already been indicated that character scales will be an important part of the games. Unlike previous FFT games that had characters fitting into one tile no matter how big or small they are, bigger characters now will occupy more space in the field. We'll keep you posted for more juicy updates on this quirky prospect. Click on Full Article to view more scans. |
