Four years. Not exactly the right age for guys to start driving, or playing the like of Grand Theft Auto. But for a console that's related political-correctness and youthful innocence, that's old enough for it to start thinking about how it wants to mature. We'll be discussing the sort of M-rated content we'd love to see for the Nintendo DS, which you can follow in the full article. |

Together with the developers and publishers looking to show off their wares at the Tokyo Game Show 2007, SNK Playmore USA has released its list of titles for the said game show. Of course, the makers of The King of Fighters and Metal Slug has a number of titles lined up for this year's show, ranging from retro games for Xbox Live Arcade and Wii's Virtual Console to new ones for the consoles and handhelds. And since SNK Playmore is still one of the coin-op kings, it also lists some titles coming to an arcade near you. Anyway, here's the list:
We're pleased to once again be bringing fans more of the quality fighting and great arcade games they've come to expect from us and with the addition of a number of downloadable console titles, SNK aficionados will have even more options available to them. Cool eh? Better heat up your Wiis and 360s, fighting games are on their way. |

The pages of the Japanese gaming magazine Weekly Famitsu has revealed that Metal Slug 7, the latest iteration in the Metal Slug series, is currently in development by SNK Playmore. The game will reportedly be a Nintendo DS exclusive. If memory serves, it will also be the first DS title in the series. Sadly, that's pretty much all the information we have about this title at this time. It will be pretty interesting to see how the DS's touch screen feature will be utilized in Metal Slug 7, though. Keep checking back here for more updates. You can also check the magazine scan up top for s couple of screenshots. If you can read Japanese, there's probably a bit more you can learn from the scan. |

For every ground-breaking title out there, there exists an unsung hero. They – like soldiers and bad sitcoms of old – are the miserable underdogs who never receive the due credit they deserve for their work. We're not talking about the developers - we're talking about specialists - the (fictional) guys who work behind the scenes to ensure that the elements in whatever genre you play will always remain in tip-top condition, whether its your resident androgynous antagonist 's script, or your unfriendly neighborhood mook's marksmanship scores. These guys will be the topic of today's quick list - along with an explanation with that special thing they do just to make the game better for one special individual - you. On to the list! 1. Sephiroth's acting coachLet's be honest - Sephiroth isn't that original. More than one anime, manga, and J-RPG can boast its own brew of silver-haired, bad-ass sword-wielding bishie hotness, with Sephie being just a part of this popular trend. What sets him apart, however, is execution (acting, not Aeris…). Sephiroth's dark foreboding lines and steely glare will haunt many a gamer's dreams, and for this, we can thank the man's ever-capable acting coach. We're talking the drama-guru who made Sephiroth walk the walk, talk the talk - the dude who probably taught him captivatingly cheesy one-liners like "Shall I give you despair?" I'm afraid you haven't, Mr. Sephiroth's Acting Coach. You did give plenty of fanboys/girls something to think about for their next few - err - dreams, though... Special accreditation goes to Cloud's hairdresser. The rest of the list is available in the Full Article |
