Tokyo Game Show - Image 1With GamesCom out of the way, there's still another big gaming event on the calendar: the Tokyo Game Show. For this year's TGS, Sega will be showing off a pretty balanced lineup that includes handheld sequel Valkyria Chronicles 2, the PS3 and Xbox 360 RPG End of Eternity, and PS3 exclusive Yakuza 4.

Xbox 360 Japan - Image 1It took a while for the Japanese to warm up, but Japan sales are now looking good for Microsoft's Xbox 360 (8,015), so said Media Create Sales' data released for the week of June 8 to 14, thus moving it up a notch closer to the PS3 (10,009). The PSP stays cozy at number 2 with 26,904 units sold. However, to nobody's surprise, it's still Nintendo (Wii - 18,442. DS - 42,280) who's laughing all the way to the bank.

Sega, Platinum Games ink publishing deal - Image 1The rumored publishing deal between Sega and Platinum Games has finally been confirmed by way of a recent press release. All three games mentioned in our previous post - Bayonetta, Infinite Line, and MadWorld - have also been confirmed. Platinum Games - Image 1Back in January, we reported that Shinji Mikami, of Dino Crisis and Resident Evil fame, will start work on the first title of the team Platinum Games (formerly SEEDS). Now how far along are they? Rumor has it that they have signed with Sega to release three new games, one of which will involve Devil May Cry 4 creator Hideki Kamiya. More details after the jump.
