Last week's game releases introduced a lot of fun games, such as Dr. Mario DX and Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. This week, however, is the week for game ports, with Mac getting its own conversion of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), the Nintendo DS getting the arcade classic Super Dodgeball Brawlers, and many others.

We have had quite a share of sports titles last week, and this time we're going to add a little more into the fitness equation with the release of Nintendo's much-hyped up Wii Fit as well as UEFA EURO 2008 (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, PSP, PC). IDG Entertainment is sending word that instead of August, this year's E for All Expo has been moved to October. This news should serve as a relief for those worried the the event may conflict with PAX's own schedule for 2008.

We were wowed by Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed (PS3, Xbox 360, PC), and it certainly won't hurt if we could get more of Altair. Penny Arcade's Child's Play, a five-year-old fundraising outfit that started out dedicated only to the Seattle Children's Hospital, has now evolved into a full-time charity drive.

Child's Play is now extending its reach throughout North America and five countries. Major online retailer Amazon is also giving Child's Play a boost-up by letting participating hospitals create wishlists of items to give to children.

It's never too early to reserve a place in the next Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). It was announced today that the event will be accepting registrations as early as January 2008. The last PAX had 37,000 gamers roaming its floor. Tickets were sold out so early registration may be a good idea.

PAX 2008 will be held on August 29 to 31 and attendance is expected to double again. "Again" because attendance has been doubling ever since the first PAX. The attendance grew so large that the last event was held in the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle just to fit everyone in.

Next year's PAX will mark the expo's fifth year and will continue the tradition of game exhibitions, conference programs (about games of course), concerts, tournaments, freeplay gaming and general fun times for everyone and all in the gaming community.

There's a new The Legend of Zelda-themed DS mod up for grabs in Ebay, and its just in time for the recent US release of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Do take note that the bidding is taking place in Australia, however, and that bets are placed in Australian dollars.

This DS mod sports a nice, cool white-and-blue color scheme, topped off with Link's sword and shield emblem. We couldn't help but feel that green or gold should have sufficed, but this blue motif is still nifty in its own right. Another cool feature is that green LEDs are placed underneath the shield, giving the shield a nice, ethereal glow everytime the DS is turned on. This nice effect just about puts this DS mod in the same category of coolness as the NES Controller and Koopa mods.

The highest bid as of this writing is AU$ 285 (about US$ 255). 15% of the bets will be donated to Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity, giving the winning bidder a feeling of doing something good in the world, along with the purchase.
