While everyone is going agog over 3D technology, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto once again goes against the flow. For him, not everything has to be in 3D.

The older entries in the Sonic series have been re released so many times that hardcore collectors probably have whole rooms dedicated to them by now. It doesn't look like Sega will be stopping the rehash train any time soon, however.

Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe has intimated that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption may not be the last we'll see of the Prime series. Another handheld iteration may even be in the cards.

The homebrew coders from the Hotelsinus Sound Design is back to release a new version of TonesynthDS, a matrix-based synth sequencer for the Nintendo DS. The latest update has added some new features and various other improvements.

A new update of Woopsi is now available courtesy of homebrew coder ant512. In case you're not familiar with the Woopsi, this AmigaOS system-based app is a handy GUI library for creating homebrews for the NIntendo DS. The latest update is the first alpha version of the homebrew that includes a number of new features, bug fixes and various other improvements.

Tech blog Digital Foundry reports that sources "intimately involved with the alliances and deal-making within their sector" have effectively confirmed that Nintendo and nVidia are teaming up for the next DS. The report also mentions that Sony has formed an alliance with IMG for the PSP2, which is expected to be a "technological monster." While neither devices have been flat-out confirmed by both groups, Digital Foundry tosses around some tentative tech specs for the next generation of handheld gaming supposedly leaked by industry insiders.

The Biggest Loser for the DS and Wii is now out, thanks to Blitz Games and THQ. The famous TV show that advocates a healthier lifestyle in both mind and body have come to the Nintendo platforms to bring some more healthy goodness for the gamers.

We've picked up on a couple of new scans for Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. The scans are from a Japanese magazine, though not necessarily Famitsu. If you look closely on one of the scans, you'll find that Niko is back. Is that a give-away as to how this adventure will unfold?
