Homebrew developer Kukulcan has released yet another amusing puzzle title based on the port of the indie PC game Xump. As expected, the game includes much of the same addicting gameplay reminiscent of the developer's other releases. Find out more about Xump DS The Final Run in our full article after the jump.

The results of the PDRoms Coding Competition 3.99 have finally been released. For those who haven't been following this contest, there were quite a number of really good entries from the community but in the end one developer came out on top. Gamers who are into the homebrew gaming scene have this certain edge: they get an ample selection of obscure games of all kinds, including slot machine games. One of the better examples is Cid2Mizard's Lucky Slot DS, a slot machine homebrew for the Nintendo DS handheld. Learn more about it in the full article.

The wellspring of homebrew has not dried up yet, and in this update straight from the PDRoms Coding Competition, we get a three-hit combo of some of the most quirky puzzle homebrew games on the DS, as well as a very tense aircraft landing simulator. The name Kukulcan shouldn't be too hard to recognize for those of you who are familiar with the Nintendo DS homebrew scene. The developer has recently released a new homebrew puzzle game called Area Ten for the DS based on a popular Flash game. You can check out the details of this nifty new game in the full article.

If you've played the rather risque puzzle game Virus DS by kukulcan, then the homebrew developer has released a special Christmas edition for the game to herald the holidays with its virus-busting fun. The new build features up to 20 new levels as well as new Christmas-themed graphics and interface.

Homebrew developers Redbug and KuKulcan have released CrocoDS 2.0 for the Nintendo DS. In case you aren't familiar with this application, it is an Amstrad CPC emulator that was based on the PC-CPC emulator from demoniak. This application will run on any Nintendo DS with a linker that supports DLDI.

Adult-oriented games on the Nintendo DS. It's been a long time coming for Nintendo Company Ltd.'s portable with the touchscreen. Not that we expect wholesome, family-oriented Nintendo to come up with anything that would make its current video games to get slapped with a "Mature" or "Adults Only" rating, but for a country filled with independent game developers that pretty much invented the eroge genre (H-games for the uninitiated, in which case, dating simulators with graphic sexual content), there very well should be at least a third-party game out! Or two!

Unfortunately, with only one or two obscure games in the pipeline, it was up to the homebrew community to make do: and by god did they make do. Eric Caoili of DS Fanboy dug hard and deep to bring us a list of titillating homebrew offerings for the Nintendo DS. Get an attractive, fully-clothed brunette to show some skin by out-cardsharking her in Teenage Queen NDS by Foxy. Get tickling and touching with Cybereality's Ticklegirl, where you use the stylus to coax a reaction from a scantily-clad digital babe. And then there's Virus DS by Kukulcan, a puzzle game that rewards you with anime-styled fanservice involving a hospital bed, buxom nurses, and rope. Lots of rope.

Kukulcan has just churned out an updated version of his DS homebrew game, Caisses DS. Avid DS homebrew supporters would probably remember Kukulcan from his earlier releases like Puzzle-DS and Prohibition (in collaboration with Space1).

So anyway, this new version of Caisses DS packs in a whole lotta changes and improvements, and the fact that he was hard at work on this release for two whole months is an indication of how much the game has changed from its previous version. So whaddya say we get this show on the road, eh?

Changelog:

• Effects of transitions between the screens (horizontal curtains, vertical curtains, effects in spiral).
• 15 different backgrounds including 1 hidden (before: 7 including 1 hidden).
• now has 14 thémes associated with 14 different characters

Kukulcan also wants to give muchos kudos to Mollusk for teaching him the ins and outs of C-coding.

Kukulcan presents his take on the classic Sokoban puzzle by Hiroyuki Imabayashi. Caisses DS is a full-blown homebrew he plans to submit to the NINTENDOMAX 2006 competition. Just like in Sokoban, your challenge is to push boxes in a warehouse to their correct positions. No pulling, no forklifts, no one else to help you.

The game is fully playable with the stylus or the buttons. It also features customizable game presentation and backgrounds, BGM and sound effects, level select, and in-game help and instructions. And you can play in English or in français, the language of warehouse love.

Kukulcan would like to thank Aymeric du Peloux, Mollusk, Alekmaul, and Reppa for all their contributions towards creating this homebrew title. It certainly feels well-made, thorough, and with a complete set of options (although additional BGM would have been nice).
