Konami has announced that Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia will be launching in Japan by October of this year. The exact date of this DS title's release is available in the full article.

Thanks in large part to Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Sony is licking some serious PlayStation 3 sales chops. However, the overall leadership remains with Kyoto-based Nintendo as their twin juggernauts Wii and DS posted huge stats again. The official reactions of both companies after the jump.

Konami Digital's announced that it will be present at this year's upcoming Games Convention event in Leipzig, Germany. The company will be showcasing some of their higher profile titles for this year, including Silent Hill: Homecoming for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. After the phenomenal sales earned from the release of Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, it seems like Sony has finally overtaken everyone else and is currently enjoying a huge hardware sales lead against its other rivals. Chart Track reports the software sales figures for the week ending on June 14, with Metal Gear Solid 4 closing its firm grip on to the top spot. Lego Indy is like so last week now. Its multiplatform success on the PSP, PS3, Wii, DS, 360, and PC last week apparently wasn't enough to take cover from the Guns of the Patriots.
