Despite the lackluster appeal of movie adaptations of video games,
super Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer remains positive that one
day, they just might get it right. And it won't suck the living
daylights out of us anymore. |

It's not everyday that we get fresh film footage for the up and coming film adaptation of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia
video game, that's why we're leaning more towards welcoming this video
interview with Jerry Bruckheimer, that also brings some sneak peek of
the movie in development. |

If you wanna have a look at the upcoming Prince of Persia movie poster,
you'll have to walk in a chick flick for that. In a shopaholic's world,
nonetheless. Mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has decided that he will
debut the Prince's movie poster in the most unlikely of his other
movies - the film adaptation of Legally Blonde-ish, Clueless-typish
Confessions of Shopaholic (starring Isla Fischer). |

There's a steady trickle of information regarding the movie adaptation of Jordan Mechner's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Just the other day, we reported that the movie port's script was reviewed. Today, we found out the exact release date for the movie. The previous reports indicating a "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" release date of "summer of 2009" proved quite accurate. The movie will be made under the watchful eye of producer Jerry Bruckheimer and will be made under Walt Disney Pictures. According to ComingSoon.net, the movie will be heading to box offices on June 10, 2009. That's right, fans. It seems they're making the movie with the sweet luxury of time - which is pretty ironic since the movie is about manipulating the very stuff. Anyway, we'll keep you posted on this so stay glued. |

Bruckheimer has teamed up with the director of Bad Boys I and II, The Rock, and Pearl Harbor - none other than Michael Bay. And if before, we mentioned that the movie based on the game would be out on 2008, well folks, you'd have to wait a little longer. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is slated for a Summer 2009 release. Movie site, IESB, mentioned that they have confirmed with Disney Studios that they are hoping that Bay will indeed take on the directorial chores for the movie when he is done working with another movie - Transformers. As for what Jordan Mechner has to say about the movie: Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as 'Pirates' [of the Caribbean] did with the theme park ride. We'll update you about the movie as more info comes our way. |

Here we go again with videogame movie adaptations. MSNBC has a poll about the top five videogames that should be ported to the silver screen. Metroid and Prince of Persia took top spots. Various reactions could be gotten from those titles alone. Prince of Persia has been announced to be set for a Summer 2008 release via Jerry Bruckheimer. But Metroid? First questions that come to mind would be: Is it going to be a live action movie or would it be better off as CGI? If it's a live action movie, who'd play Samus Aran? We've seen countless movie adaptations that simply fell flat both on the box office and in the eyes of the videogame fans. And we're sure that fellow gamers haven't forgotten BloodRayne, Doom, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, and the list just go on and on. There are a number of promising upcoming movie adaptations like Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, and even a World of Warcraft movie. Let's hope they don't disappoint. What games do you think deserve a movie adaptation? |

Now we all know that Jerry Bruckheimer, renowned producer and cinema visionary, had the Prince of Persia franchise under his wing for a long time now. Under the watching eyes of Disney, the movie is being primed for a blockbuster release this coming 2008 in summer. Probably a first of three movies to come, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" will take us into a more immersive world behind the story of the beginning of the Sands of Time trilogy. According to a couple of sites, including BadTaste.it, the movie may just be looking to be a great production after all, despite rumors of just maturing in the pre-production stages. The following images below may or may not reflect in the final movie (although we have confirmed that they are concept art straight from Walt Disney Studios), but the works show just how much intricate detail they plan to put into the costumes and settings. Click on Full Article to view the concept art and some information we dug up on the movie. |
