  • The DLDI driver was updated.
  • A small bug that existed in img2ipk.exe was corrected.
  • 'Large size limitation' of img2ipk.ini was removed.
  • The starting position and the end position of the slide show are resumed.
  • The customjpeg mode of the IPK format has been improved. Please encode again with img2ipk.exe.

Image Viewer v0.6If there's one thing you can say about Infantile Paralysiser, it's that he's never slow on updating his renowned homebrew app for the DS called Image Viewer.

After releasing v0.5 last November (and adding an English readme file, if I might add), he's back with the much-awaited and bumped up version, v0.6. If this is the first time you've ever heard of this app, the name basically says it all. It's an application for the DS which makes viewing your stored images a whole lot easier.

And if you're wondering about the stuff that's changed in this version, you'll be glad to know that the changelog for this app now also has an English translation, much to the joy of the bloggers here in QJ quarters. No longer do we have to resort to the bloody EngRish translations! Yipee! So anyhoo, here's the changelog for v0.6:

Changelog:
  • The disk driver was completely changed to DLDI.
  • Attention: Start NDSROM file name was changed.
  • EZ5 requests the firmware version 1.1.
As you can see, the changelog for this version is short and sweet, much like the time intervals for his updates. So if you like what you see on the image right there, just click on the link below and you're all set. Enjoy!

Image Viewer v0.5

If you blinked you would have missed another update of Infantile Paralysiser's homebrew app that turns the DS into a photo album with multiple functions. That app is the Image Viewer and in case you did blink we're up to v0.5.

In Image Viewer v0.5, Infantile Paralysiser has incorporated the following changes:
  • A DS browser memory enhancing cartridge can now be used for the cache memory
  • PNG image with alpha channel can now be correctly converted
  • Imgview verifies the disk writing and when something goes awry, it switches to auto-retries
  • Corresponds to EZ4/DSLink
  • If you installed previous versions of this app, you will notice Image Viewer v0.5's user interface is a little different
And finally, last but not least, Infantile Paralysiser has added an English version of the readme file! You know how anal retentive we are about readme files. So go check it out. Or you can wait another five minutes for the next version. Just kidding.

Image ViewerYes, we've said it again and again, but what can you say? Infantile Paralysiser is just one hardworking developer. Two days ago, we just reported on an update to his image viewing homebrew application for the DS, Image Viewer. Well he's back and this time, he's got v0.5 beta 6 Image Viewer with him. What's new with this one? Let's see:
  • Update of EZ4 driver
  • Update of DSLink driver
Now, we weren't able to glean other details from his site, except this one: "Once it is completion edition. The [tsu] the tired way. If there is no problem at all, Saturday we would like to raise formal edition in around evening. The test, something we ask may." Of course, the Google translation just made me go "huh?!" - so ifya have a better translation, we'd really appreciate it if you let us know.

Image Viewer

Japanese homebrew applications developer, Infantile Paralysiser, has recently updated one of his creations for the Nintendo DS - Image Viewer. Now on version 0.5 beta 2, this app has the ability of transforming your cutesy DS into a virtual photo album, complete with a slide show feature that will surely bring out the camera whore in you.

The last time we talked about this app, there were a handful of changes brought to it. Of course, the dev just wants the best for his application. Anyhow, here is what's new in this version.
  • Update of EZ4 driver
  • Update of DSLink driver
  • Verifying with disk entry, when it has failed, it writes in for the second time.
  • Verification of the expansion storage size acquisition cord/code of EZ4LiteDeluxe
Too bad that the readme that comes with the download is in Japanese. But hey, if someone out there could read and speak Japanese, feel free to share to us and the other readers what the readme says. Have fun!

Image Viewer v0.41Now, what did we tell you about Infantile Paralysiser? a) He's hardworking. b) He's hardworking. c) He's hardworking.

Now if we can't stress that point enough, let me brief you on his activities this week. Yesterday, he released v0.4 of his nifty image viewing DS app, Image Viewer.

The day before that, v0.3 test 4 of the said app was released. And five days before that, v0.3 was made availabele to everyone. NOW, he's got v0.41 up for grabs. Now, if that isn't the epitome of hardworking, I don't know what is.

Anyway, the said DS dev says that he found a bug in the old version, and apologizes for that. What else can you expect from v0.41? Here they are:
  • When the slide show was reproduced for a long time at the same time as BGM, the bug that CPU stops was corrected.
  • The BGM file is selected when there are IPK file and MP3 file of this name. (retrieval order example.ipk->example.mp3->imgview.mp3->NoBGM)

Image ViewerMan, Infantile Paralysiser sure is one hardworking dev. Just yesterday, he released v0.3 test 4 of his homebrew app, that lets you browse pictures in your DS. Now he's got v0.4, and with it comes a lot of improvements.

Unfortunately, my basic Nihonggo skills only got me as far as "Good morning-How are you?-My name is Myra-What's yours?-Pleased to meet you" so I'm just counting on Google translate to get an idea of what v0.4's features are.

(Of course, we all know that Google translate is not that accurate when it comes to translations, so if you have a better one, please let us know.)

Image Viewer v0.4 features:
  • The scroll speed-up was done in double screen mode of the slide show.
  • A small bug of the slide show was mended.
  • EZ4 was supported. (Thank you for Ko-tei.)
  • A long file name was made to be scrolled when the IPK file was selected.
  • The reduction rate (37%/50%/62%/75%/87%/100%/125%/150%/175%/200%) was added, and the icon was added.
  • The custom jpeg format was added for small file size. (It is compatible with an old IPK file.)
  • A small bug was corrected.
  • The user interface was changed a little.

imageviewerBy this time you probably know what Infantile Paralysiser's Image Viewer for the DS is all about. Unless you just came back from a vacation on the planet formerly known as Pluto. In that case you must have lots of vacation photos - which brings us back to Image Viewer.

Image Viewer is a homebrew app that turns your DS into a well-organized image and photo bank. It helps keep you on top of the tons of pics that you stuff into your DS.

Infantile Paralysiser has updated his app, and as of this post we're up to Image Viewer v0.3. There aren't many changes to this version, except for some fatal bugs which were corrected by the disk access and the file search. Other new features include:
  • A vertical mode and a horizontal mode can now be  selected
  • Added function icon for above
  • In a single mode of the slide show, the right and left can now be selected
Image Viewer would be really handy now that the holiday season are almost upon us. It helps us keep track of those horribly
embarrassing party photos that keeps accumulating every year!

Image ViewerInfantile Paralysiser has updated Image Viewer to version 0.25. As the name suggests, the Image Viewer allows users to organize photos and images stored in the DS (via media card, of course). This is particularly useful to DS owners who've amassed a cartload of images in a short span of time.

Changes in Image Viewer v0.25 (as translated by babelfish) are as follows:
  • Even if the reduction ratio was changed, the cursor position was maintained.
  • The reduction ratio change icon was brought together in the pop-up menu.
  • The function was allocated in UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT and L button (Or, A/B/X/Y and R button) respectively.
  • The preservation folder of the IPK file can be specified with img2ipk.exe.
  • When a thumbnail mode was begun, the cursor position was corrected in the screen inside.
  • A small bug was corrected.
  • The user interface was changed a little.
The developer has also released the source code for this cool homebrew application.

UPDATE: Infantile Paralysiser fixed the bug that causes a mirror image if the photo is rotated by 90 degrees in the slide show mode. Changes are reflected in Image Viewer v0.26+2.
