Way back in 1989, there was a Hudson Soft game called Dungeon Explorer for the TurboGrafx-16. This top-down action RPG has become a cult classic and is still considered as one of the better games of its generation. Younger players who weren't able to try the original will be getting a chance to do so since a remade version of it will be launched on various platforms namely the Xbox 360, PSP, and now the Nintendo DS.The newer system does away with the stricter character job system and offers eight different schools upon which your avatar's various moves will be based on. While this may seem a bit different from the original game which had eight character classes (nine if you count the hidden class), it still stays remarkably true to its predecessor. So far no release date has been announced for this game, so we'll have to wait for an official announcement regarding this. The game looks to be shaping up pretty well, so RPG fans might want to be on the lookout for more news about this title. |

Hudson Soft just came up with a massive confirmation that should tickle the fancy of Bomberman
fans. Accordingly, new iterations of the franchise are currently in
development and will be released separately on platforms Nintendo DS,
Nintendo Wii, and Playstation Portable.
First up is the follow up to the successful DS game Bomberman Land Touch!. Those who've played the first game will be familiar with Land Touch! 2 as most of the game's designs were retained with a bit of improvements such as bigger areas, customization options, multiplayer, and around 40 mini games. The multiplayer feature will offer up to four players in both single and multi-card play. The Battle Mode, furthermore, can support up to eight players locally and four through Nintendo WiFi sessions. It should be released some time in January 2008. The new PSP game Bomberman Land, on the other hand, is a compilation of mini games centered of course in the Bomberman universe. There's a deep collection of mini games allowing players to choose from sports-like games and adventure type ones. Some of these will be compatible with multiplayer mode. Aside from that, Bomberman Land will also have a Story Mode where players are tasked to collect and rebuild the broken pieces of the Bomberman Land. Character customization will also be available. Lastly, the game will also have the classic Bomberman Battle game which sports 47 stages and five different Battle Modes. Finally, we have the Wii title Bomberman Land Wii. Just like the above mentioned titles, the Wii game will offer both single player game and multiplayer sessions. The Battle Mode can support up to four players in one go and new weapons and locales will be offered to gamers. Take note that these are just overviews of the titles as more will be announced by Hudson Soft in the future. While waiting for new details, just take a look at these fresh screens for each platform. See the screenshots after the jump! |

We've seen our favorite bomb expert on a number of different platforms and well, it's taking another trip to Nintendo Company Ltd.'s handheld, the DS. Today we've got a number of screenshots for the Bomberman Story DS from Hudson Soft. White Bomber or Shirobon is on a new adventure and looking at the screenshots, it's a lot different from the puzzle gameplay we've known and loved. It's not necessarily a bad thing, since we can still see a screenshot from Bomberman Story DS that shows the old grid gameplay plus a stage settings menu. There isn't any information at the moment about Bomberman Story DS, though we'll be sure to let you know once info becomes available. In the meantime, check out the screenshots and let us know how you like Bomberman Story DS.

Craving for a smidgen of classic gaming? Don't fret, because we have a nice video of classic-style Bomberman from Atlus and Hudson Soft's Bomberman Land 2 Touch!: Star Bomber's Miracle World. This video of the Battle Mode gameplay showcases everything from ye olde Bomberman from the NES days that we knew and loved.
New elements have also been added like the Dark Mode where players blast their way with limited vision, as well as a mode that throws bombs between the two DS screens. It sure looks a delight, so don't tarry and click on the play button on the video below. |
