Despite recent setbacks profits-wise, Nintendo's success in this console generation is a hard thing to argue against. In recognition of the DS and Wii's dominance in their respective markets, BusinessWeek and management consulting firm A.T. Kearney recently gave Nintendo the top spot in their World's Best Companies 2009 list.

Homebrew coder Giovannini has recently released a new update for UsrCheatUp, a handy homebrew application that allows you to update your cheat code database of your flashcard directly from your DS.

A new update for Bunjalloo  is now ready for download. Homebrew coder Richard Quirk has released version 0.7.6 of Bunjallo, a free web browser for your Nintendo DS. The latest update has added new features and more bug fixes.

Spanish DS homebrew developer Josema has unearthed something cool in his collection, his X-Soft v8.0 brewed application. X-Soft is a Windows-like shell app, which holds several nifty tools like paint, notepad, and audio player.

Last month's school shooting incident in Winnenden, Germany, opened the floodgates for German government officials to fire criticisms aimed at violent video games. Some have called for tighter restrictions, while others have even demanded for outright bans. Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann, a frequent critic of violent games, falls in the latter category. In fact, according to GamePolitics, he think that violent video games are pretty much the same as drugs and child porn.

After last week's update, Infantile Paralysiser has released a new version for MoonShell. The homebrew media player (and then some) for the DS is now on Version2.00 beta.8.1. The previous update concerned itself more with flash cart compatibility. With that out of the way, this one however goes into the nitty-gritty of fixing specific bugs and adding more features.

I used to play the board game Mastermind and honestly believed I had Jean Grey's powers. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. But fortunately, I can now relive those fun Mastermind moments with vegetoine's homebrewed version for the DS (yes, I am easily happy like that).
