Yet another EA Sports game is about to hit the shelves. Before your woods get hot for that tee shot, we've got a video found on Gametrailers that takes an in-depth look at some of the new mechanics Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) will be introducing.
New to the franchise is the grid line feature when putting, something we've seen from other golf games like Pangya. Another worthy addition that looks very promising is the Player Confidence system. All your shots will be recorded, and your future performance will be affected by your previous attempts. If you've been nailing the green from a certain place on the hole, your player will be more confident in taking shots from there. Before you drool too much, here's producer Mike Cayado walking us through what to expect from the latest Tiger Woods PGA Tour title: |

It's been a while since we heard anything from the hilarious-looking, golf-slash-puzzler multiplatform title, King of Clubs, but now we finally have something to watch other than Big Bubba and his Elvis-esque hip thrusts. Behold the King of Clubs' latest trailer featuring none other than the Tiki Guy!
There's not really any golfing action to speak of in this clip, just the Tiki Guy trying to find a way to get to the big blue without getting his feet burned off by the hot, searing sand of his little island. What it does show is the overall tone of the game, which looks to be very light and rip-roaring funny - a breath of fresh air from all the seriousness going around lately. King of Clubs is scheduled for a multiplatform (PC, PSP, PS2, DS, Wii) release this August. While we're all waiting on pins and needles for it, let's enjoy the video! |

While the Nintendo Wii console is holding its own in current sales, we can't help but imagine what the future holds for Sony's PlayStation 3, at least according to Weekly Famitsu's "Most Wanted List" from April 27 to May 10. Their latest survey holds at least four PS3 titles in the top post, which includes must-haves like Final Fantasy XIII, Biohazard 5 (aka Resident Evil), and Metal Gear Solid 4. Wii games in the list include Dragon Quest, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and Super Mario Galaxy. The Xbox 360 gets a reprieve this time around in the duet of Lost Odyssey and Trusty Bell: Chopin no Yume (aka Eternal Sonata). The latter title is reportedly carrying several high-profile seiyuus (voice actors/actresses) in its cast, including Aya Hirano (Konata Izumi, "Lucky Star"; Haruhi Suzumiya, "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya") and Mitsuaki Madono (Sorata Arisugawa, "X-TV"; Loki, "Valkyrie Profile"). You are all familiar with how the TV series Jackass goes: Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, and the rest of the gang perform awe-inspiring stunts while making themselves look downright stupid. Now, you shouldn't expect anything less from the upcoming title Jackass: The Game. The video game is being developed by Sidhe Interactive and will be published by Empire Interactive with the help of MTV Games' Red Mile Entertainment. The group of Knoxville also talked with the developers to help bring some stunts that they've thought of using before but never really made it in either the show or the film. Johnny Knoxville commented, It is kind of odd that people will take on our personas and depressing that they're going to have to do that. We've never really worked on anything like this before. This is our first video game. We just hope that our video game is as crappy as our movies. Aside from the already announced PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation 2 (PS2) versions, Red Mile Entertainment mentioned that a DS version of the title will also be released alongside the other two on September 24. Senior Director Sales and Marketing at Red Mile Henry Price uttered, Most of what we have in the game are extreme versions of the original stunts. These stunts are set up like mini games, which provides a great deal of diversity in the gameplay. We have the luxury of throwing characters off a 50-story building into a pile of elephant dung without worrying about our insurance rates. Speaking of which, there will be a total of 35 stunts including bumper car races across New York rooftops, uni-cycling though a construction site, rolling down San Francisco streets in a trash can, and destroying a golf course with a golf car. True to the TV show, stunts will not always go as planned. Players will always have the option to "Bail Out" which will throw the character into a ragdoll position and tallies up the resulting injuries. Take note that you are playing Jackass, meaning higher scores will be given as more punishments are inflicted upon the characters. |

Video game title King of Clubs is one of the more elusive titles out there. Elusive in the sense that Oxygen Games has been quite mum about its gameplay and background story. All we know right now is that it involves a theme park somewhere down Route 66 in virtual Nevada.Basically, it's a puzzle game with Oxygen now claiming that it'll be focusing more in the game of golf. To be able to complete a variety of puzzles across five themes on more than 95 holes, players must collect, unlock, buy, and hire rewards. These then will be used to build up equipments (in your own theme park perhaps?) and skills. "We've managed to take the mental challenge traditionally associated with puzzle games, and create a fresh, really quirky social experience that's perfect for the way people play games today," commented Oxygen Interactive Publishing Director Kevin Hassall. Each level has a boss whom players must defeat in order to advance. Of course, the culmination of the game is your ultimate showdown with Big Bubba himself. King of Clubs will also be offering multiple game modes and the choice of matchplay or stroke play for up to four players. This can be played using either a multi-tap or sharing two controllers. King of Clubs will be available this coming August on platforms Games for Windows (PC), Wii, PlayStation Portable (PSP), DS, and PlayStation 2 (PS2). |

Words just fail this game. This game is just plain too awesome for mere words to describe. It truly shows how one can apply Real Ultimate Power to arrogant, decadent pastimes that masquerade as sports and eat land that could have been used for government housing. The stuff written on the instruction booklet for the game? Failure.Hey, at least it tried. Here, read the instruction booklet yourself to get an idea of what this game is all about, if you didn't get the idea from the box shot from the right already: For ten years you've trained to be a Ninja. And now your Master tells you that it's time to take the final, most difficult test and become a Master Ninja. You must complete the game of death. You must play nine holes of... Ninja Golf? You knew your Master was a bit weird, but nothing prepared you for this! You must attempt to sneak in a birdie between karate kicks while you battle Ninja opponents. Par for this course means leaving the green littered with fallen foes. You gain points for both your golf game and defeating attacking Ninja. You can also earn points for finding treasures and other bonus items along the course. Once you've completed all nine holes successfully, be ready to challenge the disguised Master Ninja. This final battle will determine whether or not you become a Master Ninja. And if you win, it will improve your golf score. Yes, Ninja Golf reigns supreme! More Ultimate Power after the Jump! No pirates, we promise! |
