It's that time of the week again, so here's your week's recap of all
things Nintendo. This batch is a little heavy on the Wiixclusives,
starting with Final Fantasy IV: The After Years stirring
up quite a buzz with its multiplayer support and rumored June 1
release. There's also a lot of buzz surrounding the latest Time 100
list, which apparently got hacked to spell out a message. Now we're not
quite sure if the rest of that list actually means something, or if we
just have a list full of random names. Anyway, we've got updated
emulators in the bunch too, so be sure to check out
this week's Nintendo Weekend Warrior. |

The nominations are in, the tallying's over, and the GDC 09 Developers'
Choice Awards have come and gone. The big winners this year were Fallout 3, which got the Game of the Year award, and LittleBigPlanet, which won in 4 different categories. The tail-end of the awards ceremony even had a little surprise in the form of a trailer for one of the most highly-anticipated sequels in recent years. Details after the jump! |

At the ongoing GDC, Nintendo prez Iwata announced that the Wii is the fastest-selling game console in history. But who cares about that. You'll care more about the new Zelda game, as well as the firmware update that they issued as an answer to the Wii storage problem.*UPDATE* now with trailer for the new Zelda game |

Mudslinging between Sony and Microsoft seems to be playing second fiddle these days to mudslinging between the PSP and the iPhone. The war between the two devices continues on during GDC, where ngmoco's co-founder Neil Young says that Apple's brainchild is "better than the DS, better than the PSP." Oh look he took a hit at Nintendo too. Pretty bold for the leader of a relatively new games company. |

Living legend of video gaming Hideo Kojima has agreed to deliver a keynote address at the 2009 Game Developers Conference. Hopefully he'll be able to inspire a new generation of video game devs to keep pushing video game development, the way he always did. Dammit I have to stop sounding like fanboy when I talk about Kojima. |

Leipzig's over and the Tokyo Game Show won't be till October. But that doesn't mean there won't be any other conferences around to satisfy ever-curious gamers' appetites. And this time, we won't even have to fly overseas. The Austin Game Developers Conferences is coming up next, and they've added in a nice touch to this year's event. |
