With the advent of WiFi and Bluetooth technology, some people sometimes forget about the original wireless tech - infrared. Without it, we'd still be walking to and from the TV set everytime we needed to change the channels. Well, Mark Doggen did remember and he's making it useful within the Cellphone and Nintendo DS arena. It's called the InfrareDS. It's an Infrared (IrDA) function to the NDS. You can exchange data between IrDA devices (like cellphones and PDAs) and the NDS and vice versa via an infrared diode. No need to go through the MMC to get your data (pictures among many other stuff) across. It used to be that the program can only run on the DS Phat, however with the arrival of the G6 Lite Card, the DS Lite can do it too. So far, we've only scratched the surface of its uses for the NDS-kind. We've covered it before, but last time he was only 60% done. What's he up to now? Where is he in the project? Read on to find out. From what we can see from his Progress Bar page, he's on his way to a full program. So far, he has completed the Infrared beam capability, but still lacking in the graphical interface and touchscreen compatibility area. Well, you know what they say about eating elephants - you consume them piece by piece. Compatibility issues. Unfortunately, not all mobilephones will be able to be capable of connecting with the NDS. For those interested, Mark has confirmed the following mobilephones to be compatible with his program: Sony Ericsson T310, Panasonic X60, Sony Ericsson K750i, and Nokia 8850. Currently, he's checking if the Siemens C65 can work with the NDS. Congratulations, Mark! And with all that aptly stated, we here at the QJ labs would like to thank Badam for the tip. |

Our resident forum moderator, EriCKY, has finished his review of the M3
Lite he recieved yesterday and has posted it on our forums. The review
is one of the first reviews of this great product, and I'm almost
convinced that this is the flash adapter to get this year! With great
compatability, a flush fit (contrary to previous speculation and
pictures), expandable memory, you really can't go wrong with this
flashcart. Aside from it's high price point of about 80$, it is the
best flashcart on the market according to this review. So, do you want
to know why EriCKY thinks it is so great? Read so after the jump!

So, you just can't decide whether or not you should get the
G6 Lite, the M3 Lite or the Supercard Lite? Well, now there's one more cart to
add to your list - DSLink. The DSLink is the first DS cart adapter and has
taken everyone by surprise. Unlike the M3 Lite and Supercard Lite, the DSLink
will not take up the GBA cartridge slot of your DS, but rather you DS cartridge
slot! It will act as a memory card adapter that fits into your DS cartridge
area with a flush fit!

The G6/M3 team has been very generous as to let us review their G6 Lite for our members/readers. The G6 Lite is a NDSL (Nintendo DS Lite) flashcart that comes in various size capacities; the highest capacity being 4 gigabits (roughly 512mb). The G6 Lite has both GBA and NDS modes, allowing you to play both GBA and NDS homebrew (and those illegal games that we are so strong against here at QJ). The G6 is known for it's great compatibility and ease of use, and it lives up to that reputation! So, whether your needs are homebrew of illegal activity, the G6 Lite is almost perfect. If you want to know why I say it is “almost perfect” – check out my review after the jump! The G6 Lite took the scene by storm when it was announced as it is the smallest flashcart ever made for the NDS. As tradition goes with flashcarts, the Chinese version was released a month before the English version on June 27th.Many of our forum users were hesitant whether or not to purchase the G6 this early or if they should wait for the official English version. Well, for those who have waited - the wait is over! The English version of the G6 has been officially released today and several online retailers are shipping them now to those who pre-ordered them. For those that did not preorder, you might have to wait for quite some time as this is a very HOT item right now. For those that still quite do not know what flashcart to get, we will have continuing coverage of the evolving flashcarts coming from several teams, and hopefully original reviews of each product. You can check out EriCKY's review from our forum here in the meantime. |

I love the Nintendo DS Lite; in fact, I love it so much that when I use Gameboy Advance (GBA) cartridges, the fact that they stick out of the DS's slot doesn't bother me at all.
The fussier lot who've been scouring the web for a solution have probably already read about the G6 Lite flash cart. It's designed to make GBA cartridges fit perfectly into the DS Lite's GBA slot. No more sticking out! It has storage memory of up to 512MB and is compatible with GBA, DS, and DS Lite. Best of all - and this you might not know just yet - it'll be available next week! The G6 Lite pack includes the Enamel Navy cartridge case, Ice Blue cartridge case, GBA cartridge and a USB burner.
