It's been a while since we last heard or seen from Capcom's Okamiden. The drought's about to end with this post as we picked up on not just one, or two videos, but three new footage for the said title.

We know that when he's got good things to say, he'll say it. He was very vocal about his respect for Bungie. But when what he sees is not up to par, we now know he can be quite harsh about it. Keiji Inafune, father of Mega Man and Capcom's head of R&D, was less than impressed with what he saw at TGS 09, and this led him to believe that the Japanese gaming industry is finished.

When a guy of Keiji Inafune's caliber agrees to have an interview with you and says he's interested in a collaboration, you will need more than a pinch and a slap across the face to get you back down to Earth. The guy is, after all, a legend. That's what happened to the guys at Bungie, who managed to sit down with Capcom's legendary R&D man.

We've already seen a few seconds' worth of gameplay footage from Capcom's DS-exclusive title, Okamiden. For those who want to see more of it, here's a longer trailer focusing on the gameplay.

Just let me say this right off the bat: Chibiterasu is so cute. After Famitsu broke the news on Okamiden's existence, the DS-exclusive follow up to Clover Studio's critically-acclaimed Okami has been given a short trailer showing off bits of the gameplay.

With GamesCom out of the way, there's still another big gaming event on the calendar: the Tokyo Game Show. For this year's TGS, Sega will be showing off a pretty balanced lineup that includes handheld sequel Valkyria Chronicles 2, the PS3 and Xbox 360 RPG End of Eternity, and PS3 exclusive Yakuza 4.

Heads up, Okami fans. It's sequel time for Clover Studio's critically-acclaimed PS2 original. Capcom has just made it official in the latest issue of Famitsu.

We've got an even spread of game releases for this week's batch of On Shelves games, including a couple of downloadable ones. Big for handhelds this week would be Capcom's and Namco Bandai's brawler offerings on the PSP, Fate/Unlimited Codes (available via PSN) and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, respectively. We had E3, then GamesCom, then PAX is coming up next, and then right after that, we have Tokyo Game Show! It's events season alright, and every time we can't wait to see what the pubs and devs are bringing along with them to show off to us. Capcom's got their list down pat already, so it seems. Via their Unity twitter, they've announced that they have "several" new game announcements in store. It sure is nice to see that they're always kept busy for our entertainment.

With Sony's major announcements back at GamesCom, news certainly has been PS3-centric as of late, leaving the Nintendo block a little dry. This week's batch got some help from the homebrew scene, especially with the news that a new firmware update has been released to counter the DSi Firmware 1.4. Read up on more right here.
