First set of cars for Need For Speed ProStreet - Image 1Electronic Arts recently gave out the the first car list for its video game Need For Speed ProStreet, and its looking pretty sweet. Each car is said to be "selected for a reason", whether because it is "unique, aspirational, memorable or highly desirable".

A big addition to the car list is the
Nissan GT-R PROTO (pictured at right). This is the first time it has ever been featured in any game. It was first revealed at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and really turned heads when it came out.

Another car that most people would probably want to take a spin in is the 2008 BMW M3. Personally, I'd still go for the 1999 Mazda RX-7, but then I've always been a Mazda fanboy. Anyway, we're sure most of you are pretty excited about the selection so here's the list.

First car list for Need For Speed ProStreet:
  • Nissan GT-R PROTO
  • 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
  • 1995 Mazda RX-7
  • 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
  • 2006 Audi S4
  • 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS AE86
  • 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer EVOLUTION IX MR-edition
  • 2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI
  • 2008 BMW M3
Need For Speed ProStreet is slated for release on the PSP, PS2, PS3, Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PC, and Mobile this year. Keep checking back for more updates on this game.

Need for Speed: Carbon for the DS will hit the shelves on the last day of October. Omg, is it that close? EA whets our street-racing appetite with a bunch of new screenshots that you can scroll through here. The game will be the first ever in the Need for Speed series that will be released for all the next-gen platforms and also on the PC, PS2, GC, GBA, Xbox and mobile.

EA has loads of stuff in store for us, including the fact that actress and model Emmanuelle Vaugier will be featured in the game. Basically, she (a.ka. Nikki) will play the part of the player's girlfriend, and they sort out their burned relationship all throughout the game. The best thing about Carbon is that you'll represent a car class, whether it is Tuner, American Muscle, or Exotic car class, and prove yours is the best. . Players get to screech through the streets on night-time mode too. Moreover, Need for Speed Carbon lets you use the Autosculpt technology to customize and tweak your car's design in every manner possible -- all more than 50 of 'em.

Carbon Canyon will be the next battleground for this next-gen racing smash. Can't wait to play the game? Let the screenshots here give you another delicious view.
