On Shelves This Week - Image 1When I say there are slim pickings this week, I mean it. The home consoles only get two releases, and there are no new games at all for the Wii and PSP. There's also only one release on PC, but since it's The Sims 3, it's sure to sell a bucketload by its lonesome. The only console not experiencing a game drought this week in the Nintendo DS. There really are no slow release weeks for the DS in terms of quantity, really. Read on for a list of this week's game releases.

AquamanAquaman was one of the founding members of the Justice League of America. And what kind of a game Justice League Heroes would be if the King of Atlantis is not in it?

So, Warner Brothers announced that Aquaman is surfing his way to this upcoming superhero brawler as an unlockable character. With weapons like whirlpool, the Sword of Atlantis and water shield, this half man, half-Atlantean is sure to add depth and excitement to the already all-star cast game.

Aquaman and the Justice League Heroes will start ruling PSP and DS this fall.

Agentq has released a new version of his ScummVM emulator port for the Nintendo DS, version 0.3.

Thanks to Zhevon for contributing the Sam & Max cursor code. Changes in this version:
  • Full GBA Movie Player support, including save/load. This means full talkie games are playable!
  • Rewritten blit operations in assembler, causing a speed increase.
  • Fixed crashes in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
  • Added Indiana Jones fight mode. Use the options menu to enable it.
  • Fixes SRAM clear keypress sometimes not being detected
  • Prevented temporary saves from being saved to SRAM on flash cart version.
  • Added alternative controls for Sam and Max. Cursor is displayed on the top screen, and D-pad right switches modes.

You can get it in our NDS Download section [here].

agentq has released a new version of his ScummVM emulator port for the Nintendo DS, version 0.2. This emulator allows users to play some of my favorite games while growing up like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle. Here?s what he had to say about the changes in this release:?

ScummVM DS v0.2 released!

Right everyone, it's time for an update. First, thank you to everyone who has donated to ScummVM DS, I greatly appreciate it, and have bought a GBA MP with the money. So when it arrives, I'll be adding support for it. For now, here's version 0.2 for you.

Changes in this version:

- Crash bug after playing for a while has been fixed
- All games have a performance boost
- Saves are compressed in SRAM allowing more than one
- Saves don't get lost at random any more
- Engine configuration is saved into SRAM
- Added option to clear SRAM (hold L+R on startup)
- Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis now works
- The sound glitches are reduced?

You can get it in our Nintendo DS Download section [here].
