DS homebrew - Image 1Missile Command DS is a DS rewrite of Atari's classic Missile Command arcade game from DS homebrew developer Kayvon. In this new version, the game's rudimentary Rumble Pak support has been upgraded to include pretty much all available Rumble Paks. There's also a new "heartbeat" rumble that activates whenever a missile is launched.

DS homebrew - Image 1I guess DS homebrew dev Snatcher was feeling a little nostalgic, so he remade the Atari 2600 Seaquest that he used to learn Lua. It's another addictive shoot 'em up, try it out.

Ghostbusters game on June 16 - Image 1Who you gonna call? And when are you going to call them? That's June 16, folks. That's when you get to roast the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. I don't know why I have a fixation on Stay Puft, but I'm buying Ghostbusters just for him.

thumb - Image 1Surprisingly it was almost a clean sweep. The majority of QJ writers agreed on this one, a single publishers name kept coming up around the water cooler. Can you guess which publisher stole our hearts this year?

Of course, there are always the dissenters. Booo! Hissss!

Harrison: We'll prove Activision wrong - Image 1Atari President Phil Harrison wants to prove Activision wrong for dropping Ghostbusters like a hot potato when it merged with Blizzard, saying he wants to turn the video game into a US$ 100 million franchise. So much for Atari's goal to be "just an online company," and I couldn't be happier for them. Go Harrison!

Discs - Image 1The end of physical media is nigh! That's according to Phil Harrison, at least. See, he's "pretty confident [kids] will never buy a physical media product" in the future - that's counting CDs, DVDs, games in boxes... Man, could you imagine talking to your future kid? "Err, daddy what's a dee-vee-dee? Daddy, is it a title of an emo song?"

Atari - Image 1Atari mentioned during the Atari Live event in London yesterday that second hand selling of video games has had a very negative impact on the games industry. "Very Painful," I think his exact words were. So what are they going to do about it? Find out in the full article.

Ghostbusters: The Game - Image 1Ghostbusters: The Video Game (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS) was originally intended to be out for a Christmas release, but has now been moved back to a June 2009 launch. Why the delay? Because the devs wanted more creepiness. Read all about it in the full article.
