Arctic Tale - Image 1

There's a new game coming out for the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS called Arctic Tale. If you're concerned about what's going on in the polar regions, and you want to learn more without having to be bored with long text documents, then this is the video game for you.

Based on the National Geographic documentary of the same title, Atomic Planet's Arctic Tale is a game about a walrus, a polar bear, and their young. It sheds life on just what's happening now in the permafrost regions and provides hints on what you can do to help.

Details haven't been revealed as to how the game will play since the game has only been announced recently, but we managed to find some screenshots of Arctic Tale from French site Wiiz that might give some a clue.

Cosplaying. It's weird, it's goofy, and in some cases, it's Narutard-extreme. Whatever the case, anime otaku and gamer alike love the idea of dressing up as their favorite characters come convention time; everyone wanna see how far they can push their luck impersonating their favorite manga/pixelated hero.

We found these vids over at TechEblog, which are all fan-made skits of all our all-time favorite games. Kinda shows you what a dedicated gamer can do when they've got a bit of money, creativity, and a helluva lot of time on their hands.

The first video up is a skit on Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. It was made by students over at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. Hmm, early concept for the Wiimote?

The video up next is a homage to everybody's favorite tactical espionage game (Not you, Sam...). This MGS skit was done way over in Taiwan, and we gotta admit, we like the way they adapted an abandoned building for the game's original Arctic setting. On a side note, their Meryl looks cuter than the original, in a Tifa sort of way.

Click on the jump to see the rest of these skits!

  Spyro12676234Nanostrayboxare111

Two new Nintendo DS games are slated for release this month. The first game, Spyro: Shadow Legacy is to be released this July 3rd. Following up on the 19th we can see Nanostray for the DS.

– Spyro Shadow Legacy introduces role playing elements to the Dragon Realms, offering Spyro fans an "RPG light" experience with all new gameplay features. By fighting and defeating creatures in the game, players earn experience points that improve Spyro's strength and abilities. This RPG element allows players to use their experience to build Spyro’s new magical powers and martial arts combat abilities as the game progresses. Not much else is known about this title but we can expect it to be good.

– Nanostray seems to be a very promising spaceship game with beautiful graphics. Features of this game include:

    – Upgradable weapons and sub-weapons, boasting tons of fire power to decimate your enemies
    – Touch screen features such as boss scanning, on-the-fly weapon management, live radar and hyperspace controls
    – 10+ stages to conquer; battle through environments like subterranean minefields, arctic mountains and hell-like lava fields
    – Unlockable features and game modes add re-playability once players complete their campaign
    – 2-player co-op and head-to-head wireless functionality
    – Online ranking system via www.nanostray.com allows players to post their high scores and compete against best in the world
    – From the creators of the "Iridion" Game Boy Advance series.

We look forward to seeing their release!
