Disney announces Princess games - Image 1

Disney's princesses for little princesses. Disney Interactive Studios just announced two new video games based on its well-known "Princesses" like Ariel, Cinderella, and Snow White. The new titles are Disney Princess: Magical Jewels for Nintendo DS and Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey for Wii, PlayStation 2 (PS2), and Games for Windows platforms.

In Magical Jewels, players are tasked to assume the role of a Disney princess and recover magical jewels to be able to replenish the powers of their respective kingdoms. Furthermore, Enchanted Journey offers more customization as players will have to create their own character first before restoring order to troubled kingdoms.

Disney characters that parents know and trust. Needless to say, these titles are aimed for young female gamers. [We always thought these games were meant for the Silent Hill and Resident Evil crowd, teehee.] Anyway, Disney's Senior Brand Manager Jessica Oifer mentioned that one of the strengths of these titles is that they feature characters girls and parents already know and trust:

We embrace the simplicity required by this age group while providing a challenging and rewarding experience set in beautiful Princess worlds. Not only are the games fun, they also introduce players to the positive attributes that make a true princess: courage, friendship, trust and the joy of discovery.

Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey is being developed by Papaya Studios and will be available fall of 2007. Disney Princess: Magical Jewels, lastly, will be released alongside the other title and is being handled by 1st Playable Productions.

Ben 10 of Cartoon Network - Image 1Cartoon Network's hit original series, "Ben 10", will be making its way to the PS2, Nintendo DS, and the PlayStation Portable (PSP), thanks to D3Publisher.

Coming to the world of video games as Ben 10: Protector of the Earth, you'll find Ben still accompanied by his friends and foes, Gwen and Grandpa Max, the Forever Knights, evil Kevin 11, and his arch-enemy Vilgax. Apart from this, you may very well expect the Omnitrix's most popular alien heroes to be playable characters. As for the storyline, it is set in Ben's summer vacation, and will include all-new locations and content for players.

Says Christina Miller, vice president of Consumer Products for Cartoon Network Enterprises,

Taking the action-packed world of "Ben 10" to the next level and creating an immersive gaming experience for our fans is really exciting for us... D3PA has a proven talent for turning Cartoon Network's popular characters into authentic and well-designed video games. The variety of powerful action play in Ben 10: Protector of Earth will engage players of all levels and keep them coming back.

1st Playable Productions has taken Ben 10: Protector of Earth's DS version under its wing, while the Sony PSP and the PS2 versions are being developed by High Voltage Software, Inc. ESRB still has yet to rate the game, but it is already slated for fall this year.
