Here's one last batch of images from Star Fox Command before the game storms to Japanese retail shelves tomorrow. The newest adventure of the Starfox crew received a 32/40 rating from the Japanese Famitsu, so it should be another solid offering of unrelented Arwing action.

Star Fox Command brings a whole new strategic element to the series with a commander’s view of the mission. Using the touch screen, players can draw the routes they and their teammates will take, then battle the enemies they encounter as they take over bases and strategically advance across the map.

In the Wireless mode, players can also blow their friends out of the sky as they dogfight with up to eight players from around the world. Star Fox Command hits the US on August 28.

Up to four players can play online (with many gameplay modes available), and up to six locally (with a single cart). And the extensive dialog and map scenes really break up the action. But the controls are amazing, and it's still a lot of fun. It's just different from the Star Fox I remember.
