The older entries in the
Sonic series have been re released so many
times that hardcore collectors probably have whole rooms dedicated to
them by now. It doesn't look like
Sega will be stopping the rehash
train any time soon, however.

This is
the week, guys! No
more filler games! Well, alright, so we still have a couple of titles
from the Imagine and Petz series, but never mind that. Big titles are
coming out this week, and the publishers did not fail to beef up the
lineup just before the Black Friday sales. It's a deluge of games, alright. Can your wallet handle it?

Tech blog Digital Foundry reports that sources "intimately involved with the alliances and deal-making within their sector" have effectively confirmed that
Nintendo and
nVidia are teaming up for the next DS. The report also mentions that
Sony has formed an alliance with IMG for the
PSP2, which is expected to be a "technological monster." While neither devices have been flat-out confirmed by both groups, Digital Foundry tosses around some tentative tech specs for the next generation of handheld gaming supposedly leaked by industry insiders.

We've picked up on a couple of new scans for
Nintendo's
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
The scans are from a Japanese magazine, though not necessarily
Famitsu.
If you look closely on one of the scans, you'll find that Niko is back.
Is that a give-away as to how this adventure will unfold?

Wanna know who the top-billers are for
NPD's October sales charts? You
don't have to look further, cos we have it right here. On the software
front, as expected,
Nathan Drake and company spearheads the pack with
their second round of adventure in
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
Meanwhile, on the hardware front, the
Nintendo platforms continue to
rule, but the PS3 also moved some impressive units, presumably because
of
Uncharted 2.

Let me start by clarifying that this is in no way a
Nintendo marketing attempt for the
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
coming out on November 15th (WTF if this is). This happened for real. Two guys
dressed up as Mario and
Luigi (presumably for
Halloween), plus one
other suspect, are now wanted by the police for assault and robbery on a
poor cabbie.

Famitsu.com has broken the news on a new entry in
Taito's Estpolis
series. If the name doesn't ring a bell, the series was released
outside
Japan as "Lufia". The new game will be called
Estpolis: The Land Cursed by the Gods and will be produced by the original game's development staff.
Square Enix will be handling publishing duties.

Almost buried in a deluge of shovelware and games with "Imagine" in the title, Cing's

was a surprisingly well-written and well-executed adventure game for
the DS. If you loved the original, you might want to start praying that
this sequel rumor turns out to be true.
