If you love animals and want to take care of them but found Nintendogs or other simulations a bit too limited in scope, you may want to look at this game. Majesco Entertainment Company's Zoo Hospital for the Nintendo DS is said to let players diagnose and treat more than 40 different species of birds, mammals and reptiles while interning at a world-famous zoo. Players begin the game with 10 wild animal species. The game doesn't start you off with boring animals though, you'll have jaguars, zebras, chimps, pandas, hyenas, kangaroos, lions, eagles, and even cobras from the get go. Gameplay can be rather complex considering you must identify and treat various ailments while checking vital signs and learning how to calm stressed patients. The game takes advantage of the Touch Screen for the different medical procedures that have to be done to the animals, including administering injections, applying ointment, bandaging appendages, pulling teeth, and x-raying organs among others. Think Trauma Center only with animals. Players new to the game won't be going into this cold turkey though, a step-by-step tutorial is available for novice practitioners along with a Doctor’s Observational Computerized Clipboard. If that's not enough help, you can team up with a friend in the two-player cooperative mode and treat animals together. Marketing Manager of Majesco Europe on what this title brings to gamers: Zoo Hospital is a fun and compelling combination of Touch Screen medical mini-games with a wide array of exotic and endangered species. Budding vets and animal lovers will gain exposure to different animals while learning how to soothe and care for them via real veterinary techniques. There's no definite release date for the game though. That's rather unfortunate considering this looks to be a very innovative and interesting offering from Majesco Entertainment. We'll have to wait and see if the game lives up to everything they say it will be. |
