Nintendo DS and Wii - Image 1Nintendo fans from Australia are getting some Ninty-brand loving for both of the company's platforms today. Both the Nintendo DS handheld system and the Nintendo Wii video game console are getting two titles each.

The DS gets Wario: Master of Disguise, which sees the popular anti-hero returning to his wicked ways in this action/theft game. Joining Wario on the DS is Chicken Little: Ace in Action featuring Chicken Little's superhero alter-ego Ace.

The Wii, meanwhile, gets Cooking Mama and Bust-a-Move. Both make use of the Wii's motion-sensing remote. Players can use it to simulate various kitchen utensils in Cooking Mama. In the puzzle game Bust-a-Move, the Wiimote can be used as either a gun or baton to blast bubbles to oblivion and beyond.

Wario: Master of Disguises for the Nintendo DS - Image 1

Wario's up to his old tricks on the Nintendo DS with Wario: Master Of Disguise. Being published and developed by Nintendo of America Inc, it is set to be released in Europe this June 1.

After watching the exploits of a professional thief named Count Camoli, Wario formulates a plan to steal treasure from TV shows. He dives through the TV screen and steals Count Camoli's quick-change wand, Goodstyle, and gains the disguise abilities of the master thief. With his new found power, he now searches for an ancient artifact that grants wishes.

With Goodstyle in his possession, Wario can now collect and switch through disguises. Players start the game as Thief Wario, a disguise that can tackle enemies, jump to great heights, and move heavy objects. Additional outfits become available later in the game including: Cosmic Wario (with his laser gun), Artist Wario, (who can create blocks and doorways), and Captain Wario (who can summon a boat to cross water).

A total of seven costumes can be unlocked throughout the game. Changing disguises is facilitated through drawing simple symbols on the Nintendo DS touch screen. The touch screen is also used to activate Wario’s costume power.

Wario's mission, will take him through multiple locations such as a luxury ocean liner, watery ruins, and even an Egyptian pyramid. The good treasure is locked away in chests and gamers must play mini-games to unlock them. Wario will need all the help he can get because at the end of each stage he'll have to face off against Count Camoli. Once a stage has been completed, it is possible to revisit it when you have acquired new disguises.

Wario: Master of Disguises is expected to sell for about €40 (about US$ 55). If you're interested you can check out screenshots of the game from our previous coverage of this game.

Since Wario: Master of Disguise won't be hitting shelves until March 3rd, Nintendo released a batch of brand spanking new screens to keep all you Wario-anticipating DS owners at the edge of your seats...or sanity, whichever applies to you. Haha.

So anyway, we've brought you trailers and gameplay vids to give you a glimpse of what's in store for you in Master of Disguise. And if you were able to catch our previous post on the game, you probably know already that you will be able to wear eight different disguises and have a wand for a sidekick. Featuring 10 missions, nine exotic locations, eight stylus-dependent minigames, and tons more, Wario: Master of Disguise is hands down one of the most anticipated titles for the DS. The game is slated for release this March.

play it good - Image 1he's thieving your way - Image 1

Listen up, guys. We have now officially broken through the final-month stretch before the release of Wario: Master of Disguise. We all know we've been pretty religious in providing you with updates on the game, from scans to info to gameplay trailers. So you think you know them all, eh?

Well, let's not be too cocky. After all, there's always a surprise in store for you in this game. If not, then it just wouldn't be fun, right? So, for us to be really prepared, it's time for us to make a full circle as to the facts of the game. Ready? Here we go, then.

Wario will have eight disguises to wear, courtesy of your artistic skills. Yup, you'll be sketching a symbol on him, which in turn becomes an outfit that gives him a particular power (i.e. Thief Wario's tackles ad Cosmic Wario's laser blasts). There are also ten missions in place that will bring you to nine exotic locations spanning the globe. Of course, staying true to the game's theme, the disguises will sure help a whole lot in getting past obstacles.

There are also chest-unlocking missions waiting for you. To be able to open the chest (in true thievery-style, of course: lockpicking), you first have to play one of the eight stylus-driven minigames that will most definitely present you with increasingly difficult challenges.

Who keeps Wario company? He's got his new sidekick, the wand. Okay, so that ain't much of a company, right? But you see, this wand is essential since this is what lets him change into his eight different disguises. Yeah, that's important. But the wand wasn't really his to begin with. So hot in his pursuit is the master thief, the original owner of the wand.

How will this story turn out? Depends on how you play it out. So, make it count for Wario. You have less than three weeks to prepare for it. Game comes out March 3rd.

Check out some artworks and screens after the jump!

Alright, before some of you guys get confused as to what the heck this gameplay vid is doing listed under Wario the Thief, you should know that Wario the Thief, Wario: Master of Disguise, and Kaitou Wario The Seven all refer to one and the same game.

Yes, it can be a "confusion extravaganza" if you ask me, but see Master of Disguise is the U. S. title for the game. And as for Kaitou Wario...well, I think we all know for which country's version that is. So anyway, this Suzaku-developed game for the DS has been out in Japan since the 18th but the rest of us here in the U.S. would still have to wait until March to get our hands on the game. Good thing about the earlier Jap release though is that we're given previews of the game, such as this Drawing gameplay vid right here.

The vid just basically shows us how one of the mini games in Wario works --- you have to fill in and color the objects using your stylus and touchscreen before the time runs out. Easy, huh? Yeah, and I can almost hear my mom screaming "Stay inside the lines, dumbass!" (Nah, just kidding about the 'dumbass' part...or not.) Enjoy the vid!

This one right here is an official trailer for Wario: Master of Disguise from Nintendo. Now, don't be confused if you come across it by a different name. Say, as Wario the Thief or as Kaitou Wario The Seven. They all boil down to one and the same thing: Wario's back and he's out to spread some wicked fun on your DS action-thievery --er, action.

Anyhow, the game is all set for release in Japan tomorrow, January 18th. And as for the U. S., we'll have to wait a bit longer, but not that long. March 3rd is the date to watch out for. So, in the meantime, you have this trailer to check out first.

Wario the Thief scans

It's been a pretty long while since we've had any posts on Wario the Thief. Well, for those of you on the lookout for this DS game, the drought has now come to an end.

We have here for you five new screenshots, as well as a scan of the game. Now, interesting about this is that Wario's character gets to play the robber, complete with seven different disguises to aid him in carrying out successful missions. The disguises may be applied to him in particular situations. Add to that, you may, for example, change Wario's costume by drawing certain forms on him via the stylus.

Yup, it sure is gonna be one heck of a masquerade. Wario the Thief shows his skills on January 18 next year in Japan.

Check out more of the screens after the jump!

A blogger over at Jeux France has gotten a hold of a pamphlet from GameStop and it shows Wario the Thief, a previously announced DS game with almost no details, to be WiFi compatible. Only one screenshot has really be released for Wario the Thief so not much is known about the title at all. How Nintendo will use the WiFi Connection with the Wario series is beyond me, but it should be interesting to see. We'll see how this turns out at E3.
