tom and jerry

If you're big fan of the furry cat-and-mouse duo here's a treat you don't want to miss. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released the cat-and-mouse game
Tom and Jerry Tales for DS (and GBA) today!

In Tom and Jerry Tales gamers play Jerry - the mouse - who must run through mouse holes and recover precious cheese that Tom has stolen along the way. But the real fun is thrashing the house with
Tom in hot pursuit. The game also features exclusive content such as the touch-screen activated events where quick reflexes help Jerry avoid Tom.

Along with the game's release, WB launched the official Tom and Jerry Tales website with a special section on hints and tips on how get those points rolling in. For example, stay away from the blue and green cheeses because those will slow down Jerry. In breakable mode, you can use the touch the screen to throw cheese at objects such as plates and ketchup bottles to smash them up. Want some more? If you collect five gold medals you get a special treat. Collect ten gold medals and you get another reward. The rest of the game tricks are posted on the game's website .

What are you waiting for? Get the game and let the chase and scampering begin!

tom and jerry talesIf you're looking for a break from the usual the blood-and-gore fest so prevalent among video games, Tom and Jerry Tales for the DS would be it. The game's so much like the original cartoon TV series, which dates back to an era when you couldn't say "damn" on the small screen. That's the kind of age of innocence that Tom and Jerry Tales bring. The conflict between the two is based on mayhem driven by the desire to drive each other nuts.

A far cry from other video games where you get points for smearing walls with pieces of gray matter and blood. This trailer brings us back to those Saturday afternoons when watching TV didn't carry the risk of psychologically damaging kids and possibly turning them into serial killers.

Tom and Jerry Tales will turn your DS (and GBA) topsy-turvy beginning October 31.

Before the Simpson's Itchy and Scratchy show turned the Cat vs. Mouse genre into a sadistic, gory, slasher free-for-all, there was Tom and Jerry. Tom and Jerry team is an old series that first appeared way back in the 1940s courtesy of Hanna-Barbera cartoons, which explains its more kiddie-friendly content.

In Tom and Jerry Tales, gamers assume the role of
Jerry, the mouse, who must rely on mouse-like reflexes and strategy to elude Tom the housecat. The goal is for Jerry to avoid booby traps and return to his mouse hole safely to get to the next level. Each level presents an increasing degree of difficulty for the mouse. Although the game follows the the original Tom and Jerry story, it will feature new and original art styles. And it's totally bloodless. Tom and Jerry Tales is expected to launch in the fall of 2006.
